Joshua 10:26 (KJV)
And afterward Joshua smote them, and slew them, and hanged them on five trees: and they were hanging upon the trees until the evening. 27 And it came to pass at the time of the going down of the sun, that Joshua commanded, and they took them down off the trees, and cast them into the cave wherein they had been hid, and laid great stones in the cave's mouth, which remain until this very day.

ALL these verses tell you the same thing; the corpses were removed in the evening, at dusk. Of course they had been killed during the day. Joshua was obeying Deut 21:22-23 which would not have hanged criminals remain on the tree; they had to be removed latest in the evening, at dusk;
Deuteronomy 21:22-23 (KJV)
And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree: 23 His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God that thy land be not defiled, which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.
 that thy land be not defiled, which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.
In Galatians 3:13 Paul quotes this very verse as being fulfilled in Christ. And true to the verse, Jesus was killed like a criminal, and they buried him a few hours later.
He died in the afternoon (Matt 27:46) and immediately afterwards, Joseph Arimthea requested Pilate (v57-58, Mark 15:42-47, Luke 23:50-56) to be given his body so he could bury it.
Matthew 27:57 (ESV)
57 When it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who also was a disciple of Jesus. 58 He went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate ordered it to be given to him
Mark 15:42-47 (ESV) 42 And when evening had come, since it was the day of Preparation, that is, the day before the Sabbath, 43 Joseph of Arimathea, a respected member of the council, who was also himself looking for the kingdom of God, took courage and went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. 44 Pilate was surprised to hear that he should have already died. And summoning the centurion, he asked him whether he was already dead. 45 And when he learned from the centurion that he was dead, he granted the corpse to Joseph. 46 And Joseph bought a linen shroud, and taking him down, wrapped him in the linen shroud and laid him in a tomb that had been cut out of the rock. And he rolled a stone against the entrance of the tomb. 47 Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses saw where he was laid.
Luke 23:50-56 (ESV)
50 Now there was a man named Joseph, from the Jewish town of Arimathea. He was a member of the council, a good and righteous man, 51 who had not consented to their decision and action; and he was looking for the kingdom of God. 52 This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. 53 Then he took it down and wrapped it in a linen shroud and laid him in a tomb cut in stone, where no one had ever yet been laid. 54 It was the day of Preparation, and the Sabbath was beginning. 55 The women who had come with him from Galilee followed and saw the tomb and how his body was laid. 56 Then they returned and prepared spices and ointments.
On the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment.
How then in the light of these clear scriptures somebody argue that;
1. Joshua slew and hanged the men IN the evening, they remained there the entire night and were removed in the morning?
2. How on the basis of this wild rendering of Joshua 10:26-27, one claim that Jesus remained on the cross the entire night and was buried the next morning?
When God gave the command, is it not obvious that the whole idea was NIGHTTIME should never find bodies hanging?
When He says 'all night' does He mean that you can hang their bodies for a better part of the night?
The depths to which some primates sink inorder to prop their false doctrines are clearly bottomless

Therefore in the case of Joshua 10:26,27, instead of to translate, "... and they were hanging upon the trees until the evening [ereb]”, rather translate, "... and they hanged them upon the trees while the sun was setting [ereb]. And it came to pass that at the time of the rising of the sun “shemesh”, Joshua commanded, and they took them down off the trees.

http://www.biblestudents.co.za/docs/html/Buried Before Sunset.htmIndeed, just so, Joseph was obeying Yahweh's commandment. Jesus’ body had to be buried the day after they hanged Him - in fact after the night in which the body “remained on the tree”
