A popular passage that I use often when I open air is Mt 7:21-23 which describes the multitude of false converts whom exist in the church today. I was just reading what Comfort says about this passage in his excellent book "What did Jesus do?" and he says the following.

On the Day that they cry "Lord, Lord" they will wish beyond measure that preachers had used the words "hell, wrath, repentance, law, and lake of fire," because on that day they will fully understand their meaning" (77).

These days many avoid using these preacher "bad words" but insist on only preaching the gospel and to that a multitude of proud people, so its no wonder so many these days have made a false profession of faith, OR they are elementary children in the faith, only God knows.

Comfort couldn't be any more wrong. On that day, many will wish they heard more about being justified APART from works.

Today's church leaders are churning out sons of hell, much in the same way the Pharisees did in NT times.

Conflicted messages like " justified by faith alone, but faith is not alone" are much of the problem

You do not believe in faith alone?
