Reelz cable network picked up Trump and the Miss America Show. Good for Reelz, the young ladies and Trump. Sure he was wrong in how he said what he said, but he wasn't that wrong, he should have laid the blame for illegal's not at their doorstep, but at the doorstep of the White House and Mr. Obama.
You mean the Miss USA pageant - where the bikinis are skimpier, the stilettos are taller, the evening gowns are more revealing, and the apolitical stance of the contestants is more required. In other words, it's all about the naked body (swimsuits), the how-much-we-can-reveal-and-still-call-it-a-dress (evening gowns), and the we-really-don't-care-what-you-think-just-say-something-benign portion.
Trump has nothing to do with Miss America which typically airs in September.
Yes, these women at Miss USA are beautiful and alluring to men - especially in their nakedness and high heels, but should a Christian support these pageants?
You'll have to pardon me. My Christian beliefs and my feminism is showing.
I'm particularly sad about all of this because I have a friend whose daughter has tried four times to win Miss Louisiana on her way to Miss America. She has lost four times.
She is now a college graduate and a cheerleader for a major NFL team. Her mother, a Christian, posts her pictures and links to her inappropriate pictures in the swimsuit calendar for that particular NFL team. I just can't believe a Christian mother would support this.
Yes, she is one of those incredibly visually stunning young women. We could tell she would be when she was 4 years old. And she's a nice girl.
Haven't we come long past this ideal for our daughters and this notion that this is who we want representing our nation.
I guess not.
