Reelz cable network picked up Trump and the Miss America Show. Good for Reelz, the young ladies and Trump. Sure he was wrong in how he said what he said, but he wasn't that wrong, he should have laid the blame for illegal's not at their doorstep, but at the doorstep of the White House and Mr. Obama.

You mean the Miss USA pageant - where the bikinis are skimpier, the stilettos are taller, the evening gowns are more revealing, and the apolitical stance of the contestants is more required. In other words, it's all about the naked body (swimsuits), the how-much-we-can-reveal-and-still-call-it-a-dress (evening gowns), and the we-really-don't-care-what-you-think-just-say-something-benign portion.

Trump has nothing to do with Miss America which typically airs in September.

Yes, these women at Miss USA are beautiful and alluring to men - especially in their nakedness and high heels, but should a Christian support these pageants?

You'll have to pardon me. My Christian beliefs and my feminism is showing.

I'm particularly sad about all of this because I have a friend whose daughter has tried four times to win Miss Louisiana on her way to Miss America. She has lost four times.

She is now a college graduate and a cheerleader for a major NFL team. Her mother, a Christian, posts her pictures and links to her inappropriate pictures in the swimsuit calendar for that particular NFL team. I just can't believe a Christian mother would support this.

Yes, she is one of those incredibly visually stunning young women. We could tell she would be when she was 4 years old. And she's a nice girl.

Haven't we come long past this ideal for our daughters and this notion that this is who we want representing our nation.

I guess not.

Scarlett, pretty soon we'll have the tranzjenner ladyboys in this pageant and all others. Remember, gender is whatever the individual FEELS it is at any moment. If you're disgusted by what you see, you ain't seen nothing yet! For the record, I'd NEVER let my daughter in some beauty pageant...I am certainly in agreement with you, Scarlett.

This is stunningly insensitive.

Back you go...

Hey, thanks.

I've know John here a long time. I know what his beliefs are and how he expresses them. I'm not in a stir that he called me "Doll", so no one else should be either.

You should see the conversation he and I had a few years ago when he found out that I go by Ms. Kim and not Miss.!! LOL!!!

C'mon, folks. Stop making this thread about each other. We need to stay on-topic! Seems like what is being said here is that no matter who Trump may offend, there is a BIG market out there for flesh and networks will pick it up for money, right? And if that is the correct understanding of this thread, what is the christian response?

Virtually no one is going to see this event on Reelz network. Donald Trump is on TV saying losing his business with Macy's and now the Miss USA pageant is "peanuts" and doesn't amount to much money lost. Well, Mr. Trump, maybe you're not as sharp a businessman as you think because losing this business is a blow to your image and stature. Sometimes image can be your most important product, and yours is floundering right now.

The Christian response should be the same as if any network picked up any program that exalted the flesh in a way that Christ would not be supportive of.

[1] Write a letter of complaint if you feel that adamant about it. Nothing will happen of course, but your voice will have been spoken.

[2] At the very least, don't watch the program.

I have never written a letter to networks, but I have a friend who does. But there are several programs that I do not watch that some in my Christian circle seem to have no problem with. I voice my opinion as humbly as I can when they bring it up and that's that.

Don't watch. He's a vile disgusting man and should not be made wealthier by Christians..

I actually like his ties. But I won't be buying any more.

Zaac, I'd rather watch footage of my dog throwing up in reverse than watch this pageant. Let that visual soak in for a minute....

Jkdbuck, I think I tried to watch this pageant a few years back. And I remember a few minutes into it thinking this is the tawdriest excuse for a beauty pageant I'd ever seen.

It's about sexualizing EVERYTHING.
