Powerful open air sermon

2 Chron 24:20 (NIV)

Read it in your favorite translation, I just mention the NIV 1984 since this is the translation I am using to read the Bible cover to cover this year. But what a powerful open air sermon. Reading these texts I am getting ideas for new sermons. However such a sermon would not be appropriate to preach in Denver since they are not the people of God and I am not a prophet. But earlier the text says that God used prophets to call the people to repentance, but none listened. They in their human responsibility chose to reject the message. The people of Denver have that in common with the people in the text in that they also have chosen to reject the messages that I preach on the streets. No they will not kill me, but I have had at least two threaten to throw a punch at me!

How do they react when they meet a giant rabbit like you?

In all seriousness, Evan, I am glad that you noticed at least some difference between the Old Testament narrative and contemporary street preaching. It would be an extreme error to conclude the prophet's words to Israel confirm a specific evangelistic method today.
