I agree with both gentlemen. But is there any way to put the genie back in the bottle? If we elect a conservative as a President can he or she, or congress turn back the current so-called Marriage Act?

Based on the OP the Apostle Paul had no moral right to be an Apostle. He persecuted Christians and delivered them up to death. Who cares if he did all those things before his conversion. He still did them.

How many fled the wrath of God in Sodom and Gomorrah? With or without state licenses, the perverts were rampant. God was longsuffering, waiting as long as possible. His wrath is coming again soon--we have been warned for thousands of years. That which God calls abomination is now called: alternate lifestyle.

Thank the Lord for those who will stand up for that which is right--regardless of the consequences.

"The axe is at the root"

    Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

I would say that Kay is in great company!
Paul would be honored to be her cell mate.

    *************************

    From this link:

You think God can’t use you?
You think you’re not good enough?
You think your past disqualifies you to serve God?

    Think again.
Look at some of the people God used in the Bible:

    Moses stuttered.
    David’s armor didn’t fit.
John Mark was rejected by Paul.
    Timothy had ulcers.
    Hosea’s wife was a prostitute.
Amos’ only training was in the school of fig-tree pruning.
    Jacob was a liar.
    David had an affair.
    Solomon was too rich.
    Abraham was too old.
    David was too young.
    Peter was afraid of death.
    Lazarus was dead.
    John was self-righteous.
    Naomi was a widow.
    Paul was a murderer.
    So was Moses.
    Jonah ran from God.
    Sarah laughed at God.
    Miriam was a gossip.
    Gideon and Thomas both doubted.
    Jeremiah was depressed and suicidal.
    Elijah was burned out.
John the Baptist was a loudmouth.
    Martha was a worry-wart.
    Mary was lazy.
    Samson slept with a prostitute.
    Noah got drunk.
Did I mention that Moses had a short fuse?
So did Peter, Paul – well, lots of folks did.

During a radio interview I was asked why so many Bible characters had serious flaws. My answer was simple. That’s all God has to work with. All the perfect people are in heaven. The only ones on earth are the folks with serious weaknesses. The talent pool has always been pretty thin when it comes to moral perfection. God works with sinners because that’s all he has to work with. In heaven we will all be vastly improved–perfected by God’s grace. But until then, he uses some pretty ornery people who fall short in many ways, and he does some amazing things through them.

You think God can’t use you?
    Think again.

Kim is not in that company at all.

She took an oath on the Bible saying that she would do a job. Now she is refusing to do that job.

If she can't do the job, she needs to resign.

That is something we can both agree on ... and if you really believe what you said, Zaac, then let's apply the oath of office to Mr. Obama. He has definitely failed the hard working American people by not enforcing the laws regarding the borders and illegal immigration, so should he resign? I think so! What's good for the goose is good for the gander! "Quack, quack!"

Let's also remember that if we cannot change our hearts and minds, then the President absolutely believes that marriage is between one man and one woman. He can't just go changing his mind! ;)

Except for the fact that they changed her job.

She didn't sign up for what they are now wanting her to do.

They didn't change her job description. Part of her legal job description that she took an oath to uphold, requires that she issues marriage licenses. She refuses to issue licenses to anyone.

She's changing the law and that is the very thing that she's complained that Justice Kennedy did.

And I repeat. her job description has not changed. She's still required to issue marriage licenses. But not only is she not issuing them to SS couples, she's not issuing them to anyone.

If a person takes a job, even an elected job, and finds there is as aspect of that job you simply cannot not perform because of you religious beliefs, then you should resign from the job. This maintains your religious beliefs and your integrity.

How long would a church keep a preacher who announced that he/she had decided that preaching was not supported by scripture and thus there would be no more Sunday sermons? But he/she was not going to resign and they should continue to pay him/her.

Actually, in Kentucky, as in Alabama, the county clerk has the discretion to not issue marriage licenses.

No, she isn't. Kentucky state law doesn't recognize your homosexual redefinition of marriage and she is obliged to not recognize it, as well.

    Stand.

No. Your homosexual redefinition of marriage is not recognized in Kentucky.

By your logic, she would have to issue marriage licenses to pedophiles and children.

    She needs to stand.

She's obligated to recognize the laws of her state.

    Stand.

What if your religious views say you're obligated to follow the laws of your state? Should you violate the law?

Don't know. You'd have to ask the individual.

No, actually, the Constitution is the law of the land, not a bunch of activist judges.

This is the part where you run to Wikipedia to find some little detail to try to prove me wrong to assuage your insecurities, cite the Supremacy Clause without reading it or having a clue what it says, and I have to point out to you that you completely skipped over the qualifying phrase, "in pursuance thereof [the Constitution]".

The job description doesn't require her to go against state laws and the law of the land, the Constitution, says that those powers not granted to the federal government (in this case, the power to define and regulate marriage) are reserved to the states.

Not analogous. The analogy would be if they took a job in a bar and refused to sell alcohol to minors, because while their job description requires they serve alcohol, state laws prohibit them from sell alcohol to minors.

What are the reasons a license can be refused in KY?

But she does. The Supreme Court rules, whether your or I like it, and it is now the law of the land.

If you have a job that you find you cannot do for moral reasons, but the job description and the law of the land requires it, then resign and maintain your integrity.

What would you say to about a person who is against drinking, takes a job at a bar but refuses to sell alcohol?

Workers Always have the discretion to NOT do something. But one of the many requirements of her job is that she would issue marriage licenses. She stopped issuing them altogether.

Yes she is. The law says she is to issue marriage licenses. It didn't say to whom. She's trying to change the law. And because she can't change it, she refuses to do her job of issuing marriage licenses to anyone.

    She needs to resign.

I don't have a homosexual redefinition of marriage. If she's gonna work for a state government in these United States, she IS obliged to recognize it or quit.

    "I appeal to Caesar"

Not sure where judges are authorized to make laws and/or amend them. We have a majority of liberals in charge of the courts. We are being controlled by a sizeable force of secular, atheistic, humanists lead by the prince of the power of the air--the god of this world.

This witness of sin, righteousness and judgement to come may have to resign--this would serve to increase the focus on the bad guys.

Look for Kim in the "well done, good and faithful servant" line.

Everyone on this board give $100 anonymously to her support.

It is long past time to get serious.

    Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Kevin Swanson has said they're starting a fund for her. I'm planning to give when the site goes up, but the time to do things anonymously is over.
