I keep hearing a lot of stuff on this board and by people in the news who profess to be followers of Jesus about what we shouldn't do and why we shouldn't do it. And most of it seems to center around political motivations.

Following the attacks in Paris that left nearly 130 people dead, the governors of Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Mexico, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin have vowed to block Syrian refugees from being placed in their states.

So what should a Christ-honoring response to people in need look like?

We open our homes and churches to them. We help clothe and feed them. We provide them jobs. We help them get education.

    We become hospitable. Hebrews 13:2-4

I understand the politicians giving the political answers. That's their thing. But it's time for the men and women of God to stop bowing at the altar of partisan politics and start lifting up the name of JESUS!!!

If these people would assimilate to the American Way then accepting "some" of them would be fine? All of them? No. These folks want to conquer us. The best thing a Christian could possibly do is uphold Christ as the Only God. Not some homemade allah.

A 19 year old girl has been arrested for 1st Degree Murder for throwing her new born out of a 10 story building because she was afraid of what her parents would "think". Her family is from the Middle East.

You have to get here to assimilate. And 10,000 is SOME of them.

Who of the 10,000 Syrian Refugees is trying to conquer us and what does that have to do with what the Christian response should be?

You can do that from afar. But these people need help. What should the CHRISTIAN response be?

What does this have to do with the Christian response?

Zack..., you can play word games till next Thursday but one thing for sure..., you can't snuggle up close to a rattlesnake without getting bit. Nor can you expect any "breaks" from your enemy.

Our Lord certainly did not intend for His Children to be wimps or cowards nor does He expect us to run from opposition.

The Muslim's have been at war with Christians for over 1400 years and they are still enemies of the Father of Abraham, Issac and Jacob.

As far as I'm concerned those that are here in this Country who refuse to assimilate need to be sent home. We also need to close up ALL of those 28 Muslim Compounds currently training their followers for Jihad here in America. There is absolutely NO room for them and they need to go.

    Short of this is foolishness.

HAMel, there's only one problem with your analogy: You must assume that ALL muslims are rattlesnakes.

    And that's where it fails.

Not all muslims agree on islamic doctrine, just as not all Baptists agree on doctrine; not all catholics agree on doctrine; not all mormons agree on doctrine; etc., etc.

If the analogy logic is true, then why aren't ALL Christians catholic, or mormon, or baptist?

If the analogy holds true, then we're in a position where we need to consider swallowing our pride and say, "yes, Westboro Baptist Church DOES represent me and my Christian beliefs."

@Don, you are exactly right. ALL of them to me are rattlesnakes until proven otherwise. The "analogy" that sticks is they ALL pray to the East five times a day; ALL of their women are completely covered except for their eyes or face retribution; They ALL stand accused of being guilty should they be sexually assaulted; ALL of the men consider themselves as being above women in every day life. They "refuse" to be treated by a woman doctor even here in this country.

I am certainly not willing to abuse ANY of them should they need food, water, medical treatment, housing, etc..., while being shipped home. America is not for anyone who refuses to assimilate.

Now, let me ask you this. How did our American Forces determine a North Korean from a South Korean during that conflict? What about Vietnam? How could you tell? Until proven otherwise any of them were capable of slitting your throat and not think one second about it.

These folks are our enemies until they prove otherwise and no, I don't apologize for my position here. In a news report the other night several thousand came charging over the border (over there) and completely consumed this little town. One woman was telling of them just coming right through their doors and into their homes taking whatever they wanted. It was total chaos. She was terrified. ...what if they had had weapons?

Diversification will destroy any nation just as we have been witnessing here in this country.

How long has your home been open to them, and how many are currently there?

Nobody ASKED you about rattlesnakes in this thread. And God's word tells us how we are to treat our enemy and He doesn't condition it upon the "breaks" you might receive. So just tell me that you don't give a flying hoot about what God says and I'll make sure you're left out of the conversation. Because you can say that you care what God says till you're blue in the face. But your words say otherwise. And before the energy is even transferred to your fingers to type it, I don't care that you don't care what I say.Geek

Who amongst the refugees is your opposition? You got any names you'd like to share of the 10,000 folks that have yet to be designated? You're speaking out of pure fear and want to pull everybody else into it so that your unChristlike response doesn't stick out like a sore thumb.

Number 1. Read your Bible instead of spouting. That's not how you spell "Isaac". Number 2. Who gives a flying flip that you think Muslims have been at war with Christians. Muslims are at war with CHRIST just like everyone else who rejects Him. You can't land a blow because you don't know who your real enemy is and you very clearly don't know how to fight that enemy.

Go take that up with the Native Americans because the Europeans who came over here didn't seem to have a problem with not assimilating. But please go tell all the folks in the Chinatowns and Germantowns and Jewish areas of the country that you want them to be sent "home" because they haven't "assimilated". Where's home for you?

FOX News firing up the restless non-natives again?

Man please. That's a bunch of political manure. The white folks who came here didn't care anything about assimilating. Now it's a republican talking point that immigrants have to be willing to assimilate. This country isn't a Borg ship. Folks can come and be whomever they want to be. And when you're no longer in the majority, you'll come to realize that.

Were the North Koreans and the Vietnamese fleeing from those regimes trying to take refuge in the United States?

Spoken just like someone who doesn't follow Christ.

And now you're scared that 10,000 are gonna come overrun your house and take your stuff? It always goes back to folks longing to hang on or pass on the things of this wretched , dying world.

That's about a dumb statement if I ever heard one. But on the other hand, we got a lot of wicked ancestral European progeny running around pretty much destroying everything.

Did I miss something? I thought the 10,000 weren't gonna start being placed until 2016.

    Who started the first crusade?
Who became synonymous with Rome when Rome was still stomping on any opposition around the Med?
Who did not preach Christ to the tribes that first became Muslim. Indeed who made fun of them as having no God prior to Mohammad being born?

There is no innocence on either side historically speaking.

What do you mean by assimilate? We have many regions in our country and those regions have distinct cultures. Which culture do you want them to assimilate into?

How did Christ say we are to treat our enemies?

By the way, calling people by names such as rattlesnake is the third step in the path to genocide and is wildly defined as hate speech. Be careful, that is treading on very thin ice.

He doesn't care CTB. He can't identify a single person in that yet undesignated 10,000 who is an enemy. And even if he could, his words say that he doesn't care how God says he should treat them. His politics tells him otherwise.

There is a reason Jesus said: But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

Of course he also said: And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.

Pray hard enough that last one and the other will take care of itself.
