5 band members in our youth group. We go to concerts.
I'm not really sure how to answer this one.
Would you include, say, a symphony orchestra concert that featured the world-renowned [&, BTW, physically handicapped] Israeli violinist, conductor, & pedagogue Itzhak Perlman (b. 1945) playing Beethoven's Violin Concerto in D Major, Opus 61 (1806) in this category?

I've been to all sorts of concerts and will most likely go to more in the future. The most recent one hubby and I went to was Third Day, Colton Dixon and Josh Wilson. I wasn't excited with Colton Dixon (he was definitely more of a performer) but Josh was great and of course Third Day was fabulous.
Now I have a dilemma. The Gettys are going to be in New York City in November. Unfortunately, it's the same day that I go to the Northeast Equine Expo with friends. We've gone to the Expo for years together and they have the BEST BEST BEST fried vegetables ever. I look forward to those yearly. But the Gettys are in town and that will be an amazing worship concert!! They are some of the best hymn music writers today. So what do I do????????

I go to concerts. But most of the ones I go to that cost money are when other people offer to take me there. Or when I went to Rock the Universe this year with my church.
And then there's Winter Jam. Winter Jam is only $10 at the door--just about anyone can afford that.

Sometimes. Saw Lyle Lovett and Jerry Jeff Walker recently (not together). Dailey and Vincent are coming and I'd like to see them.
A buddy of mine is a member of the Grass Roots. They were here not long ago on a package tour with some other 70s acts.
Saw a group of kids called The Flyers in Delray Beach a couple of weeks ago. They were a cover band, but I was really impressed with the depth of some of the music they chose.

Hey, I liked them and their songs. Tell your buddy I am a fan. I considered them better and more conservative than 3-DogNight. I especially appreciated Sooner or Later and Two Divided By Love.
I haven't gone to concerts for decades. I saw Anne Murray and B.J. Thomas just once a piece. Ronnie McDowell --several times. Elvis P. seven times. Here in China he's called (in translation )--The King Of The Cats. Early in his career he was billed as the Hillbilly Cat.
I went to see the Gaithers and others with them back in the early 70s. I also went to a so-called Gospel Quartet night with the likes of J.D. Sumner --a favorite of mine. I can sing bass but he was incredible and took it to a whole other level!

I am not sure how to answer that, either.
While I think this music is and can be a "religious" experience, and participants may be Christians, not sure I would typically label as Christian music. But, whatever...
Everything from Beethoven to Black Sabbath. Rolling stones, Brad Paisley, Willie Nelson, Grateful dead, Ricky Skaggs, Allman Brothers., the list is endless. I love live music.
Despite this fact I live in a wee town in rural New Zealand, we do have an opera house with magnificent sound qualities, a leading school has a superb music school with a renown organist who gives concerts, and a yearly master class for aspiring operatic students......so it is all go in a sense.
I always go to the pre Christmas choral usually the Messiah by Handel, which is made up of local musicians and imported soloists......which is charming as it is not totally professional.
I would dearly love to go and see Bruce Springsteen, but the cost of travel, accommodation and tickets put this sort of concert out of reach for me, quite frankly... I am better off buying a cd, much cheaper.

Love all types of live music -- concerts, musical theatre, etc.
Secular concerts include everything from Josh Groban to Beyonce to Gloria Estafan to Tina Turner to Zach Brown Band to KC & Sunshine Band to Bon Jovi to ....
Sacred concerts include Truth (remember them?), Casting Crowns, Amy Grant (once just her and her acoustic guitar - excellent), 2nd Chapter of Acts, etc. Most recently, heard the Digital Age (former David Crowder band members).
Secular concerts include everything from Josh Groban to Beyonce to Gloria Estafan to Tina Turner to Zach Brown Band to KC & Sunshine Band to Bon Jovi to ....

Will do. Just saw him at Meeting of the Minds a couple of weeks ago.
When we lived closer to Portland (Maine), we'd go to occasional concerts there, mainly classical. Their presentation of Bach's St. Matthew Passion - sung in English for we Philistines - was gorgeous and moving. The only Christian concert for which I've paid admission was when the Cathedrals came to Bangor 25+ years ago. I've been to one rock concert, about 46 yr ago before God saved me, and it was by a group called Grass Roots - not sure if it's the same as the one cited above. Their signature song was Walk Away, Renee. Left with a roaring headache and, looking back, those two hours probably moved me farther toward tinnitus than would chainsawing (w/o ear protection) a year's worth of firewood.

Walk Away, Renee was actually done by a band called the Left Banke, which is one of the most underrated bands and one of the most interesting stories of the 60s. Their song, She May Call You Up Tonight, is one of the greatest pop songs ever. In my humble opinion, I believe a lot of things the Left Banke did are as good or better than many of the things the Beatles and Beach Boys did at their peak (and, as a huge Brian Wilson fan, that's saying something.)
If the Grass Roots had a "signature song", it would probably be Sooner or Later or Midnight Confessions (or, possibly, Where Were You (When I Needed You)).

You are correct - shows me what I get for trusting memory from that long ago. I stand by my description of the concert's effect, however.
If my memory serves me correctly [Having had a stroke a little over four years ago, my memory of certain things cannot always be 110+% accurate any more.], The last concert for which I had to pay was one at Nashville's Bridgestone [Home of the NHL Nashville Predators] Arena.
It was one of the Gaither organization's "Homecoming" concerts. As a personal preference, I do not care that much for every selection that has ever been performed in such concerts, nor do I care that much for the way in which every selection has ever been performed in such concerts with which I am familiar----but those preferences might better be the subject(s) of some other thread(s)/forum(s).
Since I only purchased one ticket, I had visions of being ushered somewhere in the upper altitudes of "Ye Olde Nose Bleede Section," but that was not the case. Instead I found WPE3BQL being directed to one of the sections not more than a few feet from the elevated stage; thus, my protests were kept to a minimum.
During one of the intermissions, I was able to extend my arm such that it shook the hand of Mark Lowry. He and I share similar marital states, and a friend of mine was also a student in one of his classes while he was enrolled at Liberty University. Strange as it may seem to some folks, I also enjoy his brand of humor.
The other "high point'....well, I suppose it might better be considered a "low point" ..... was when I extended my open hand low enough to be "low-fived" by the late Jessy(sp?) Dixon.

The only other "Gospel"-type concert that I can recall attending was one wherein a "love offering" was administered was held at the Judson Baptist Church on Franklin Road in Nashville (within a few miles of the Bell South/AT&T facility wherein WPE3BQL spent 18+ years as an employee).
The performer was none other than the late pianist Anthony Burger, who also had close ties with the Gaither organization....in fact, it was on a Gaither-sponsored cruise ship outing where he played his very last concert in this life.
I suppose these two outings can be added to that of my one visit to the Tennessee Performing Arts Center [TPAC] where the Nashville Symphony Orchestra used to perform before they moved to their current venue, the (Kenneth) Schermerhorn Symphony Center.

We definitely go to concerts. I go to all different kinds of concerts. I like all different kinds of music. Growing up my mother was very strict on us not listening to anything but gospel, but we would always find ways to listen to other things too. It was crazy for her to believe that as teens we were just going to listen to gospel. So I go to all the different concerts because I love all different kinds of music.
