"AMES, Iowa — Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor and 2008 vice-presidential nominee who became a Tea Party sensation and a favorite of grass-roots conservatives, endorsed Donald J. Trump in Iowa on Tuesday, providing Mr. Trump with a potentially significant boost just 13 days before the state’s caucuses.

The Iowa Republican. ”There are the Tea Party activists who still think she’s great and a breath of fresh air, but she also did a good job of courting Republican donors in the state,” he added.

Other conservatives said that Ms. Palin serves as a particularly effective shield against Mr. Cruz, who has assidously courted Iowa’s evangelical voters."

I just can't thank John McCain enough for introducing her to the national political arena. Goodness gracious.

Who knows what Trump has 'negotiated' with her. It's what he does.

I read she likes the Dept of Energy spot.

From the article:

“Palin’s brand among evangelicals is as gold as the faucets in Trump tower,” said Ralph Reed, the chairman of the Faith and Freedom Coalition.

“Endorsements alone don’t guarantee victory, but Palin’s embrace of Trump may turn the fight over the evangelical vote into a war for the soul of the party,” he said.
---
Talk about hype!

The endorsement of a political has-been that quit her job as governor to get on the private sector money train will create a fight for the soul of the GOP? Hardly!

Well said.

I'd think her endorsement would hurt more than help Trump. She killed McCain when she was caught telling lie after lie. And I'm leaning towards Trump. o_O

All is not well on the Palin homefront. Her son Track was charged with domestic violence and assorted other things. She is not the shining star that some believe her to be. The endorsement of John Wayne's daughter meant more to me anyway.

It's frankly an endorsement he could have done without. Not really sure how she is a coagulant factor for evangelicals to get behind him.

I heard parts of the speech this morning. Speechless

Was she drunk?

Rob

Your post made me curious, so I watched her speech. Yes, at times she seemed a bit "influenced".

For example, I didn't know that Trump wrote the "Art of the Dill."

Sarah Palin has become her own caricature.

Re the endorsement: I think of it all as one TV reality show personality endorsing another TV reality show personality.

Phyllis Schlafly, though not in the limelight these days (she's 91) has endorsed Trump. Among other things she has said:"I certainly think he represents everything the grassroots wants." She also liked the "fight" in him.

She is the one that should have come out on stage and promoted him. She has more credentials than Palin.

Talk about a political has-been, Phyllis Schlafly is it. Best known for campaigning for Barry Goldwater in 1964, she also published a newsletter in the 70's. Her endorsement means absolutely zero.
