Yes, God saves bad people. I am saddened that at least one on here, goes on and preaches, and teaches, that he is saved because he had a pure heart, that he kept it pure, and therefore and for this reason was saved. Yes it is saddening, the false teaching that goes on even among Baptists! How far from the doctrines of grace have Baptists strayed!

Take a moment, those who know the truth and enjoy this short video.

Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst.[1 Timothy 1:15]

None who fall under the above ever had a pure heart pre-conversion. NONE.

Paul spoke in the present tense as well. He didn't feel he was pure prior to or even after conversion. All he did prior, or pre-conversion was considered dung, and thoughts of himself afterwards, or post conversion was that he was the foremost of sinners!

Today, many think they have been enlightened more then even the apostle and speak so highly of themselves post conversion, and that it is shocking enough but it doesn't end there. To top this error, they now speak of themselves highly PRE conversion! And our churches are not in trouble?

People want to go around and not think they are as bad as 'so-and-so' because 'so-and-so' was a drunkard, but at the same time, they lied to someone. People want to quantify sin so that the 'little lies' they tell, those pesky little peeps at the XXX movies, the pills they took to get high just that one time...well, they just ain't as bad as those committed by the womanizers, drunkards, thieves, rapists, murderers, molestors, sodomites, &c.

For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.[James 2:10]

I am ever so thankful He does not save good people. Why?

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,[Romans 3:23]

Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned—[Romans 5:12]

For as in Adam all die,[1 Corinthians 15:22]

If God saved good people, then none would be saved.

As Jesus once said...."Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.”[Matthew 19:17]

The OP has fabricated the "pure heart" crap, and I haven't read anyone else using the term, so it must be his imagination running wild on something that doesn't exist.

You do realize that regeneration before faith is a very old Baptist doctrine, right?

Watch your mouth, no one here lied or fabricated a thing. :)

Has this individual you're referring to merely used the term "a pure heart" to mean "a circumcised heart" and you're simply making a mountain out of a mole hill?

It would be helpful if you provided a link to a thread.

Start a thread, provide a link, and let's see what your mind imagines to be 'mystical' about our religion.
Who are the 'our' to whom you refer? You're claiming to be the spokesman for a group, name it. And, by the way, you already know where I stated you have mysticism on the brain, so why do you need a link? Go argue that over there and I'll be glad to join in, maybe, but stop derailing this thread. :)
