Since GE is deperate to discuss anything BUT THE BIBLE - we will indulge for a post or two -- GE's obsession.
Desire of Ages -- Commentary on the Life of Christ
The chapter: "
In Joseph's Tomb"
In the beginning the Father and the Son had rested upon the Sabbath after Their work of creation. When “the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them” (
Genesis 2:1), the Creator and all heavenly beings rejoiced in contemplation of the glorious scene. “The morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy.”
Job 38:7. Now Jesus rested from the work of redemption; and though there was grief among those who loved Him on earth, yet there was joy in heaven. Glorious to the eyes of heavenly beings was the promise of the future. A restored creation, a redeemed race, that having conquered sin could never fall,—this,
the result to flow from Christ’s completed work, God and angels saw. With this scene
the day upon which Jesus restedis
foreverlinked. For “His work is perfect;” and “whatsoever God doeth,
it shall be forever.”
Deuteronomy 32:4;
Ecclesiastes 3:14. When there shall be a “restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began” (Acts 3:21),
the creation Sabbath, the dayon which Jesus lay at restin Joseph’s tomb, will still be a day of rest and rejoicing. Heaven and earth will unite in praise, as
“from one Sabbath to another” (
Isaiah 66:23) the nations of the saved shall bow in joyful worship to God and the Lamb. {DA 769.2
For the SDA any day of the week for any false reason other than the true Sola Scriptura merits sanctification.
Now I have never noticed this before, but here today Bob Ryan is showing not only why Catholics hold Sunday sacred, but also why Islam hold Friday sacred ---not Sola Scriptura---, but SOLELY SDA E.G. White! What’s more, how SDA and E.G. White are not only the co-worshippers of Sunday and Friday with Catholics and Islam, but have become the ring leader in cahoots.
Says BobRyan, “~Since GE is deperate to discuss anything BUT THE BIBLE - we will indulge for a post or two -- GE's obsession.~”
As introduction BobRyan offers two quotations of E.G. White … “~anything BUT THE BIBLE~”
Then as ~discussion~ on “~GE's obsession~”, BobRyan indulges in another “~Commentary~” by E.G. White … “~anything BUT THE BIBLE~”!
And nothing of “~GE's obsession~” … not so much as a word a sentence or one argument of GE’s!
Nauseating Seventh-day Adventists!
But now for the quote which BobRyan so obsessively offers in justification of Islam’s holy day.
Says BobRyan quoting Mrs White,
“~In the beginning the Father and the Son had rested upon the Sabbath after Their work of creation. When “the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them” (
Genesis 2:1),~”
What a bundle of blooming blunders!
“~In the beginning the Father and the Son had rested upon the sabbath~” … “~In the beginning … upon the Sabbath~”? “In the beginning”, seven days after “it was the First Day?!
“~the Father and the Son had rested upon the Sabbath after their work of creation. When “the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them”~”.
AFTER creation … WHEN the heavens and the earth were finished~”? When the heavens and the earth were finished was WHEN the heavens and the earth were finished—not after they were finished.
But this is small change.
Notice the Scripture reference, “When “the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them” (
Genesis 2:1),~” Mrs White FRAUDULENTLY do not mention
Genesis 1:31. Scripture becomes Sola Mrs White, Sola SDA Sola Contra Scriptura—totally NO Scripture.
Now read the sequence, Genesis 1:31; 2:1, “And God saw everything that He had made … and the evening and the morning were THE SIXTH DAY the heavens and the earth were thus finished and all the host of them.” THEREFORE, the Creator and all created beings rejoiced in contemplation of the glorious scene the completed creation. “The morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy.”
Job 38:7.
But there’s no sanctification of the Sixth Day; no blessing upon it. And God did not rest on the Sixth Day. The Sixth Day not yet as per NEW Testament Sola Scriptura had seen “ALL the works of God finished” or “perfected” “by the all-exceeding greatness of his POWER”. “FOR GOD THUS CONCERNING THE SEVENTH DAY SPAKE” and not concerning the Sixth Day. Hebrews 4:4!
God did not rest on the Sixth Day but on the Seventh Day. EXACTLY therefore, Muslims worship THEIR Allah specifically NOT on the Seventh Day of the week but on the Sixth Day.
Excellent Job, Mrs White! Your obsessiveness with the creation instead of the Scriptures, has been most fruitful. It serves Islam well.
Now, as upon the Sabbath after his work of creation in the beginning God rested, so did Jesus after his life’s labour of suffering on earth, rest upon the Sabbath DOING his Divine WORK of redemption on it, completing it, perfecting it and blessing it through “having entered into his own rest as God in his own” having raised from the dead, “wherefore for the People of God a Sabbath’s rest remains.”
Therefore, indeed “~… though there was grief among those who loved Him on earth, yet there was joy in heaven.~” And indeed “~Glorious to the eyes of heavenly beings was the promise of the future~” seen fulfilled “When suddenly there was a great earthquake, the angel of the Lord from heaven descending and with the lightning of his appearance cast the stone from the grave and sat on it.”
HERE was the promise of the future : THIS was the restored creation, the redeemed humanity— “Christ the ALL in all fulfilling Fullness of God … TRIUMPHING in it” his Resurrection from the dead—“IN THE END OF THE SABBATH”. This,Christ’s completed work, God and angels saw “in the Sabbath”. With this—the rest of God in Christ in Resurrection from the dead, the day upon which Jesus rested having RAISED FROM THE GRAVE AND DEAD, is foreverlinked—WITH N

THER DAY THAN “the DAY The Seventh Day God from ALL his works RESTED”.
“His work is perfect.” “Christ RAISED by the glory of the Father” is the perfect work of God. God’s Work of Christ being RAISED “on the Sabbath Day”—“on the day The Seventh Day Sabbath OF THE LORD GOD”—, is “the Rest of God”.
NB: “~…and “whatsoever God doeth,
it shall be forever.”~”
Christ’s Resurrection is the “restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began”, Acts 3:21 Hebrews 1:1,2. “The Son” by whom “God made the worlds—being the Brightness of his Glory and the express Image of his Person—SAT DOWN ON THE RIGHT HAND OF THE MAJESTY ON HIGH when He had purged our sins.”
There’s no such thing as “~the creation Sabbath~”. There’s only “the Sabbath” of God’s Rest—his, Sabbath’s Rest, IN CHRIST— the “Sabbaths’ Feast of Christ the Substance” of it— Christ in Resurrection from the dead. Unless Christ’s Resurrection, there had been no rest for God or man.
“~…the day on which Jesus lay at rest in Joseph’s tomb~”— “in the end of (it) the Sabbath, late on the Sabbath in the mid-afternoon of the Sabbath in the very daylight as it began inclining towards the beginning of the First Day”, HE ROSE from the dead, “~will still be a day of rest and rejoicing. Heaven and earth will unite in praise, as “from one Sabbath to another” (
Isaiah 66:23) the nations of the saved shall bow in joyful worship to God and the Lamb~”.
With my grateful acknowledgement and apologies to Mrs E.G. White and SDA BobRyan.
