Based upon your theology, why even use his material then?

Brother, I urge you to spend hours on your knees asking God to give you HIS passion/compassion for the Lost and unsaved. That will be plenty of motivation. Read the scriptures and put down the books...Read the Gospels and then Acts and Meditate on Our Savior, That is all the motivation you need my brother.

Let the Holy Spirit Control your life and your Words and your Mind. Let the Word of God shape and influence your mind and heart. Pray, Pray, Pray that God would use you to speak His Truth, but God forbid you get motivation from a source Other Then the Living God!

So God cannot use men of God to encourage and motivate? Hogwash. Read Ephesians.

If that is how you respond to my encouragement something is not right...I read your replies brother, I sense a lot of Pride. God will not use a prideful person. I know from experience. Your tone is off...and you may say, "in person I'm nothing like I am on the internet." But in reality, the Internet persona is closer to reality than we'd like to think. I've been there.

Obedience should never be the motivation for preaching. If one preaches simply so they can say, "I did what you told us to do," then you might as well hide your talent in the ground....

Those called to preach have that call within them placed by God, and know that they cannot be satified doing anything else really....

But is that a call to preach? Or a call to see souls saved? I've known many men who said they were called to preach, but confused that with pastoring, or with other functions; and in some cases, confused a "call to preach" with "I wanna be the guy in the pulpit with all eyes on me." Each of those would swear their call was placed within them by God. But because they didn't, or were unable to, discern the difference, as a result, churches were split, people stopped coming to church, etc.

All I'm saying is, examine yourself and WHY you're preaching.

Some are gifted to be Evagelists, and others to pastor/teach, so wise to be able to discern which area God called you into!

Agreed; just as some are feet, while others are hands, and others are mouths. We can't just decide that we're gonna be mouths; as you said, so wise to be able to discern which member of the body God has made you!

That fits all areas of our service, as many want to help out, but just in wrong area for them!
