We know Trump has campaigned on the WALL but is that enough? I live in Houston and the problem is company's are hiring BILINGUAL for normal jobs and that's over the top and pampering them. There have been so many illegals that invaded Houston that everywhere I go now they are yammering in Spanish and company's cater to that. If you serve on jury duty "you must speak English or cannot serve on jury duty".....IRONIC! Question: Is the wall enough or can something be done about the language WALL and where you live is it different than Houston?

How does a person speaking to people other than you in a different language affect you?

Send ANY undocumented alien who has a job here in America back to his home country. Period.NO EXCEPTIONS.

Fine and/or bring criminal charges against American company officials who allow the hiring of undocumented aliens.

An unrenewed work VISA gets the alien sent back home the day after expiration. NO EXCEPTIONS.

American companies should hire veterans first, Americans first.

Row vs. Wade. We don't care how they get back.

If a person is working here illegally the liberals cry is "racial profiling" and the sheriff in Houston "a Hispanic" says the same.

So what? They have a valuable skill and are benefiting from it.

I know four languages (Swedish, English, German, and Russian). Why should I not profit from that knowledge if I have the opportunity?

Well, there should be at least one prerequisite. You should be here legally.

Gaag, you guys are living in a bubble. Here, I hear conversations in Tagalog, Chinese (various dialects), Korean, Spanish, Russian, and who knows what else all the time as I'm out and about. Remember, LaGuardia campaigned for mayor of NYC in English, Yiddish, and Italian back in the day. I'm not going to waste m energy getting ticked because the family sitting at the next table at Mickey D's isn't speaking English.

Any company that wants to serve the public would do well to have multi-lingual persons to represent them.

There have been so many illegals that invaded Houston that everywhere I go now...
Have you checked their documents or is that just an assumption?

...they are yammering in Spanish and company's cater to that.
You used the term "yammering" instead of speaking, and that indicates an issue with the persons, not just the language.

My mother's family spoke several languages better than English, and in my early days I grew up hearing languages other than English on a regular basis. In fact, I heard them so much, I could follow conversations in a general sense.

Some may say it is rude, but it is actually a way to preserve a bit of culture, relieve the mind of translating everything before it is spoken, and to have a modicum of privacy in certain matters. A number of conversations that I heard as a child were not intended for my ears, but my mother and grandparents forgot how easily children learn language.

If you serve on jury duty "you must speak English or cannot serve on jury duty"
Yes, that is a practical issue when it comes to the fair imposition of justice. That is not a public service issue.

Question: Is the wall enough or can something be done about the language WALL and where you live is it different than Houston?
So what do you want, a ban on languages other than English? A law against preferring people based on their linguistic abilities? Make English the national language and ignore cultures and languages that were here long before the United States was a nation?

If you're going to complain about Texas having Hispanic folks, remember that English speakers only started coming into the Texas lands (Mexico) in large numbers about 200 years ago. The same thing can be said for New Mexico, Arizona, and California.
