    I watched Trump speak to Congress to see how he'd be received by the Alt-left, and I was not surprised, just ashamed of them because the brunt of his speech was finely tuned for them.

    I chatted with several of my "die hard"democrat friends afterwards, and you may be surprised to hear of the eight I talked to, seven proclaimed that unless their party leaders get over the election and pitch in with the president, they would vote for Trump in 2020. Now that amazed me, because these friends are as hardcore as ctb and ITL to name a few, when it comes to their party loyalty. But, seeing Pelosi and Chun giving a thumbs down and rushing out before Trump left the stage, greatly disappointed them.

    So, what did you think of the address, and the dessent from the left?

    Trump's speech was a campaign speech, a circus barker's speech. He did what any good huckster does, he said what his followers wanted him to say and provided no explanation on how his promises are to be completed.

    I thought he started out well condemning racist, hate filled events. However he quickly left the high ground for the slime of racist prejudice.Then he gave tacit approval to attacks on aliens when he talked about the creation of VOICE ... not just illegal aliens but all aliens by not using the word 'illegal'.

    At least no one yelled "You lie!" in the middle of the speech. In our dysfunctional politics, maybe that's progress. But I doubt it.

    And what was it Obama said? Obama said: "There are also those who claim that our reform effort will insure illegal immigrants. This, too, is false ." OK so was Obama telling the truth?
