    Put your thinking caps on

What Major league players played for different teams in the same city but in different leagues?
(be sure to list player, teams and leagues) for bonus points - add the years.

Edited - it was asked for which sport - I was originally thinking of baseball- but why not any sport. - and that would include even two different sports.

Carlos Beltran has played for the Yankees and the Mets.
    Darryl Strawberry
    Dwight Gooden
    Ricky Henderson
    David Cone

    Don Sutton: Angels and Dodgers
Sammy Sosa: Cubs and White Sox
The guy that used to announce Cubs games with Harry Carey. He was a pitcher in the 70's. Played on Cubs and White Sox.

    Jerry Rice: 49ers and Raiders
    Randy Moss: " "

Dude on the NY Giants that caught the winning TD pass in the Super Bowl, got busted for having a gun in the locker room, then went to the Jets. Has a very unique name.

Basically, try to think of guys that played on
    Baseball
    Yankees/Mets
    Angels/Dodgers
    Giants/Athletics
    White Sox/Cubs

    Football
    Jets/Giants
    Raiders/49ers

    NBA
Knicks/Nets (Same city, but not different league)

    NHL
Islanders/Rangers/Devils (Same city (basically), not different league)

Steve Stone was the announcer with Harry Carey.

This is a great question. Really jogging the gray matter.

There was a guy that played football on the Falcons and later played baseball for the Braves. Same city, different league, different sport. That's the ultimate answer to this question. Too bad I can't remember his name.

You're probably talking about hundreds of players with this question. One comes to mind quickly, from what I had just been posting about... Babe Ruth played for the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Braves, and Willie Mays played for the New York Giants and the New York Mets.

And checking, there are 161 players who played for both the Red Sox and Braves; it's likely a third played for both when the Braves were in Boston, where they were for over 50 years.

Bo Jackson played at least part of the time with the Royals.
Ron Santo played for the Cubs and spent his last couple of years with that unmentionable southside team. I think Don Kessinger may have done the same. At least he managed the Pale Hose for a while.
Of course, Michael Jordan played for the Bulls and White Sox.

Jay Cutler was the MVP of both the Packers and Vikings while wearing a Bears uniform. Oh, wait, that's not quite the topic.

Did Hoyt Wilhelm pitch for the Cubs? If so, he would be White Sox & Cubs.

What MLB player was traded to a crosstown team and retired rather than report?
