Not wise? I don't know M, that's easier said than proven.
Can Almighty God give a man (saved or lost) the power of free will?
If not why not?
Just curious.
What difference does it make?

Do you create theology from Ecclesiastes? Why or why not?Not wise? I don't know M, that's easier said than proven.

What's your point? Where is the term free will?Psalm 78:41 Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel.

So say you. But I do appreciate your point of view. Interesting. What is your source concerning Acts, if any.Acts 17:30 is measured against verses that are clearly presenting God's work of regeneration. Acts 17:30 is not the bedrock for a theological opinion because the context and purpose of Acts makes it a supplemental comment.
I like Ike.You would never create Eisenhower's war strategy from a secondary source history book.
So we don't form doctrines from a speech that was cut short.
OK, I don't want to throw-up on you either.Share the verse that says man has free will in regard to regeneration.
I have shared the verses that say God predestines. Both TCassidy and Martin have thoroughly explained the concept of the will in regard to God's ordained will. There is no need to regurgitate the issue.
The problem seems to be that you misunderstand grace.
Same place as "sovereign".What's your point? Where is the term free will?
God told Adam and Eve what they could do and not do. Eve saw that the tree was desirous and good for food. Then the Serpent tricked her and she ate and gave to Adam and he ate and their eyes were opened and they fell. Not wise? I don't know M, that's easier said than proven.

Do you mean to say that you can't find the term Sovereign God in the Bible? Really? What version are you reading?Same place as "sovereign".

Sorry, I will exercise my free will and attempt to give him a chop in the voice box.God told Adam and Eve what they could do and not do. Eve saw that the tree was desirous and good for food. Then the Serpent tricked her and she ate and gave to Adam and he ate and their eyes were opened and they fell.
Now, the will is never free, as there is always a driving force behind the will, as Jonathan Edwards wrote in his book 'Freedom of the Will'. Ppl always choose what is most pleasing to them. If a guy pulls a gun on you and says give him your wallet or he will shoot, you will fork over that wallet, as you desire your life more than your money.
But the will is never free, saved or lost. Romans 6 tells us that to whoever we yield our members to, is who we are servants of. FYI, servants ain't free.
KJV.Do you mean to say that you can't find the term Sovereign God in the Bible? Really? What version are you reading?
Sorry, I will exercise my free will and attempt to give him a chop in the voice box.
Turning the other cheek was given for a non-life threatening situation.
Acts 5
3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

So you can find the term Sovereign in your Bible. Good.KJV.
HankD
No, my search engine fails on the first 3 letters "sov".So you can find the term Sovereign in your Bible. Good.
Sorry for your failure, Hank. No, my search engine fails on the first 3 letters "sov".
HankD
No you are not.Sorry for your failure, Hank.
Can God do so? Of course. Did or will God do so? That is an entirely different question. Can Almighty God give a man (saved or lost) the power of free will?
Sure you did. Try a different version than the KJV.No you are not.
And I didn't fail.
HankD
Hmm, do you really want to go down that road?Sure you did. Try a different version than the KJV.
I am confident that other versions have the word Sovereign.
I am also confident that any version you try will never once have the term free will translated into the Bible. It is an entirely made up term by philosophers of the Bible.
