Aging? Sierra is quite powerful. Have you ever used it?

    (sigh)

Why, exactly, is Apple the best?

Because you do not like Apple and that makes it the best!

For one thing I really like the fact on a Mac one can run sierra and Windows 10 all on one machine. Try doing that on a PC. But I will agree with you that for business purposes windows has more and MS Office is more powerful. At work we have Office 2010 and it goes through Mac Office 2011 several times. But besides that I think apples are better because on a Mac you can run windows!

This is my main objection to using Apple products. You are forced into conformity and when a better alternative comes along you find that you've wasted money on products you can no longer use or you remain chained to an antiquated system. And Apple has not been at the top of its game for a couple of years (personally, I think they have taken for granted that people are too invested in their system to leave).

And I have to admit that there was a time I was tempted to go back to Apple products simply because I was so invested. Instead I've repurchased much of my library in more open formats. I'm not sold on any operating system, and I'd like to keep it that way.

My neighbor (the one who talked me into changing my drives to solid state drives...and playing with linux...which I have not done much) has Sierra and Windows 7 pro on his Dell PC. Why would he not be able to have Windows 10 and Sierra on the same PC?

Why would I want to do that?

Why would I want to do that?

In the past five years I've built two computers. I decided what CPU I wanted, what graphics card I wanted, what components I wanted, what case I wanted, keyboard and mouse I wanted, basically everything I wanted and nothing I didn't want. Try doing that with a Mac.

When I built my first one 5 years ago, the nearest equivalent Mac would have cost $3,500 more.

I did not scrimp on my PC. i7 CPU, 16 MB RAM, solid state drive, 1 TB hard drive, 850 watt power supply, upper end graphics card, CPU fan and four case fans, DVD drive/burner, 24" monitor.

If you dual (or more) partition your PC, you can set one of the partitions to run Mac OS, including Sierra.

That's the best way to use your Apple -- keep it cold.

I just saw the movie last night and would recommend it to believers. Not to be used as a witnessing tool with unbelievers.

We had a guest speaker at church today that recommended this movie. His sales pitch:

"I know, I know. Another 'Christian' movie. Let's face it, typically they're not very good. You know what we usually say about these movies? We kind of apologize for them by saying, 'for a Christian movie it was pretty good.' Well, this is a good movie that's also a Christian movie."

Apples are for people who don't know how to use a real computer. :D

Sigh.... I think when I get married again she will stop having me post on this board. The constant negativity makes this place unhealthy.

Just saw it. 4 stars! I would use it as a pre-evangelism tool with unbelievers. Once they see that Christ is real and the Bible true then use the law.

Perhaps first we need to convince them of the journalistic method so that they trust the method. They need to understand what constitutes investigative reporting. Then we need to review a little science. Once there we show them the movie. Then they are ready for the Law. Once they get the Law down, we pull the rug out from under them and give them the gospel. That's, after all, how Jesus would do it. ;)

I agree. The apologetics was good but the Theology was shallow at best.
Given that the book is meant to be an apologetic book, one for Christians to strengthen their faith, I think the movie did a good job in simplifying the points for a wide audience. There was no Gospel in the movie though, no mention of sin, or judgement.
