That is the easiest way to show that Yeshua wasn't saying to drink his literal blood and eat his literal body. He was saying to consume his word (body - torah) and his sacrifice (blood - redemption). This is explained by who a saint is in Rev:

Rev 14:12 Here is the endurance of the set-apart ones, here are those guarding the commands of Elohim and the belief of Yeshua.

They take a statement the Lord made that was meant to be figurative as literal, "whoever does not eat my flesh or drink my blood....", which he obviously would not have meant as literal in violation of the command to not drink actual blood.

So, why would the blood of consummation of the marriage covenant be fine and the other type blood a sin, if simply contact with blood were the only issue?

Contact with blood isn't the issue. If you remember, blood was sprinkled on the people:

Exo_24:8 And Mosheh took the blood and sprinkled it on the people, and said, “See, the blood of the covenant which יהוה has made with you concerning all these Words.”
Blood is also used for atonement, certain offerings, was applied to the doorposts for passover, etc.

The issue with blood being consumed is that it was a pagan practice (all 4 prohibitions in acts 15 are). Many things commanded to Israel was to differentiate them from the pagans and not do what they did so they were set-apart and different.

I agree. The article in the link deals very poorly with that aspect.

Blood carries most of the diseases of its host ALIVE.

Simple contact with blood is not a sin, but eating meat with its blood still in it or having sex with a woman who's in her menstrual cycle is per the commands of God. God has defined the parameters of what he considers sin, and this is precisely what being "holy" is, a manner to be separate, distinct, and different from others. It would be like me telling you, "You may eat chicken, but you must not eat the skin, nor the thighs, nor the wings." Herein, as an example, I've commanded you to do something to distinguish you from other people.

It's not what goes into the mouth that defiles a man, but what comes out of it.

    That settles that debate.

But why the appetite for something that was not created for food? (Besides the hunger due to oppression or famine, that is.) Gluttony is the sin. Not the contact with blood.

Obviously the apostles agreed that drinking blood was sin,

Instead we should write to them, telling them to abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood. (Acts 15:20 [NIV])

You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things. Farewell. (Acts 15:29 [NIV])

Yet you twist the passage that permits men to now eat unclean animals to mean that they can also now drink blood, which is a false presumption.

Drinking blood or eating unclean animals in Lev 11 are all laws for Israel - those in covenant with the Creator. If you don't wish to be engrafted into that group, go ahead and be a lawless heathen with no future hope of eternal life. Gentiles have no covenant with the Father (look it up)

If I remember it correctly, you yourself eat the blood of animals because you do not eat only bona fide kosher meats. You have no credibility on this issue.

You're the one twisting the Scripture. They were told to abstain from those things so as not to be an offense to the Jews, not because they would be defiled by them.

If I remember right, somehow you think that kosher according to the oral law is the scriptural mandate (which it is not). Pure written word is the truth and a proper kill by draining the blood is all that is required.

It doesn't matter, talmudic law or not.

According to the scripture you cannot consume even 1 DROP of BLOOD or you are cursed.

You must cook animal flesh to the point of WELL DONE (if it is pink AT ALL, there is still blood) and shake the residual blood off the meat or you have broken the Law of Moses.
