Evangelical Sisterhood of Mary

I was wondering if people have heard of this group? A friend of mine became heavily involved a few years ago.
It's based in Darmstadt, Germany.

She is a very different person since having become involved. The people, on the whole, seem happy, but it has a reputation in some circles for having cultish tendencies.

Any input gratefully received.

The Evangelical Sisterhood of Mary is an ecumenical, Lutheran based, religious order.

It was founded by sister Basilea Schlink a German theologian and intellectual who on March 30, 1947, with Erika Madauss founded The Evangelical Sisterhood of Mary in Darmstadt.

In 1948 both the founders and the first seven sisters became nuns. From then on, Dr. Klara Schlink called herself Mother Basilea and Erika Madaus adopted the name of Mother Martyria.

Today, The Evangelical Sisterhood of Mary has eleven subdivisions all over the world, with in total 209 sisters, and about 130 of these are situated in Darmstadt.

Question: do they pray to Mary??

Anglican also have sisters, as do Reformed Christians. Two Reformed groups, distinguished by their brown and blue habits, ministering together at a gathering in France in 2013:

I saw that show the other day in fact. She and that guy Carlos always were getting into it with each other - they sure got into some crazy situations. It was a funny show.
