Hebrews and Revelation

More often it seems that I have heard and taught from all the books of the NT far more frequently then these two books.

Is this the same with your experience?

If so, why is the prominence of teaching less when it concerns these two books?

When you have taught the Scriptures and principles from these two books, what were some of the major themes that caught your attention in these two books?

What area of thinking was significantly modified as you studied and presented these two books?

I have studied Hebrews for a number of years...and later on Revelation.

We know in part the Hebrews was given as an exhortation...
13:22 And I beseech you, brethren, suffer the word of exhortation: for I have written a letter unto you in few words.

I now believe very strongly that it was given to the early church to answer a main question , in light of the persecution that was coming their way....
That question was...Where is The Lord Jesus Christ?What is He busy doing now?

After the introduction in Revelation..we see the Lamb that was slain is now upon the throne...in Rev .4,5.....Hebrews extends the teaching to give details about our Great High Priest.

Rev12 gives an overview of redemptive history....I lean toward the current rule with a rod of iron,and ultimate victory on the way to the eternal state of peace and rest.

We often have preaching from Hebrews. We seem to have more preaching from the OT than the new.

The Book of Hebrews clearly defines the excellency of Jesus Christ over every other servant of God who came before Him and OBTW there are no more He is the final revelator of God, not just a servant but the Son of God - God himself revealed in human flesh.

Personally I believe the book/letter/epistle was written to the First Baptist of Jerusalem, you know - the 5000 from the day(s) of Pentecost.

Alas after 30-40 years of waiting, waiting, waiting for His return, many were saying (metaphorically) like Peter (bless his heart)

John 21:3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.

They had turned there eyes from Jesus the Son of God back to Moses the Servant of God. Worst than that many had seen His glory and perhaps even walked with Him in Galilee.

They went to the Temple/Synagogue on the Sabbath and church on the Lord's day. One foot in the synagogue and one foot in the church. And why not?

NKJV Mark 2:22 "And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine bursts the wineskins, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins."

NKJV Luke 5:36 Then He spoke a parable to them: "No one puts a piece from a new garment on an old one; otherwise the new makes a tear, and also the piece that was taken out of the new does not match the old.

I agree with you apart from this post. The preaching of the gospel at Pentecost was in the temple and the preaching after that, as that is where the people were. Daily not only on the Sabbath.

The streams of living waters was the gospel emanating from the temple, and Jerusalem.

Yes, In my view Acts is the historic narrative of the transition from Israel to the Church.
Hebrews the theological narrative of that transition.
