Yeah, right. If he could allow such a horrendous thing to happen to a little girl, then his religiousness would have him lost him his own humanity.

I read of a Christian missionary who stood up to ISIS, refusing to use violence or convert to Islam, while they cut the finger tips from his young son's hands, murdered him, and ended up murdering the entire family. Was he wrong in doing this?

Why all the hatred and not some pity? Your enemy is also Satan's victim.

“And the Lord’s slave must not engage in heated disputes but be kind toward all, an apt teacher, patient, correcting opponents with gentleness. Perhaps God will grant them repentance and then knowledge of the truthand they will come to their senses and escape the devil’s trap where they are held captive to do his will.” (2 Timothy 2:24–26) (NET)

Just the same, fear of death prevents Christians from following Jesus to the letter.

Jesus Himself also became violent on occasion, as the story of His encounter in the Temple against the money changers and other business folks testifies to.

Since you will not answer the question directly, I can only assume from all your postings that you would do nothing.

In that case, your inaction would be pitiful and nothing but cowardice in the face of evil. Hiding behind the veil of Christianity is not going to cut it in my estimation.

Does anyone here follow the Primitive Quartet? Maybe I am getting too old. Years ago they has a song called "Blood Bought My Freedom."

    Land of the Free,
    Sweet home of Liberty.
It came at such a great cost.
    Our Soldiers brave and true,
Gave their lives for me and you.
Thank God for the red, white, and blue.

    Blood bought my freedom,
    Someone had to die.
    Someone freely took my place,
Blood was the price for supreme sacrifice.
Someone died that we might be free.

    Over the sea
    On an old rugged tree,
A battle was fought for you and me.
    It won't be fought again,
    We have victory over sin.
    Thank God for Calvary.

    Blood bought my freedom,
    Someone had to die.
    Someone freely took my place,
Blood was the price for supreme sacrifice.
Someone died that we might be free.

First of all, I don' think much of a man who would bring his family to a place in the world of such danger. Secondly, if converting to Islam would have saved his family from any harm then that is what he should have done, and then be prepared to deal with the consequences before Almightly God at the appropriate time. It' s called being a man and saving others.

If you didn't have a pistol then fight the rapist with your bare hands and die if necessary. I don' know how you could possibly live with yourself if you did nothing in the face of pure evil.

That' what some Christians have said when they insist soley on prayer for healing instead of doctors.

I see no reason to ignore the means
(firearms) that could prevent harm or injury to innocent people.

"Following Jesus to the letter?" Do you do that? Do you hate your wife or children [Luke 14:26]?

Do you hate anything that hinders your relationship with Christ? My wife does not, nor any other close relative.

Matthew 18:6 King James Version (KJV)
6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

So you follow the spirit, not the letter, then.

I admire this man, but I think he should have done this as a single man. Not with a family. Maybe this is the reason why Jesus and the apostles were single.

The Spirit of Love calls the right shots every time. If you need to make a difficult decision, ask what Love would do. God is love. And Jesus is Lord of our life when Love calls the shots.

But if it was in his heart to use violence if possible, it undermines his entire trial.

“And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.” (1 Corinthians 13:3) (KJV 1900)

Absolutely, but vengeance belongs to the Lord.

Jesus summed up the Law as love your God and love your neighbor.

You have honored the second part, but not the first, with your statement above.

Loving your God means being obedient to your God. Jesus asked, "Why do you say, Lord, Lord, when you do not do what I say?"

To learn how to be obedient to God, you need to read Scripture.

Scripture tells us that "vengeance is mine saith the Lord".

Scripture also teaches us that God delegates administration of his Higher Law to human authorities.

The law holds law breakers accountable. This is God's Will.

God's Will is not de facto Might Makes Right, because psychopaths are free in an anarchy with only one law of loving your neighbor but no way to enforce that one law or to hold accountable the breakers of that one law.

Scripture also teaches that we are allowed self defense.

The real question is: is vigilante justice ever okay with God?
