Exactly. Men lived 900+ years before the flood, and were genetically superior. The idea that they couldn't have developed a written language is counterintuitive.

Right, just as before Babel, no one needed to learn other languages. Something changed.

They say Babel happened when Peleg was about 5 or 6 years old. It was in the days of Peleg that the earth was divided also. I also deduce that it is likely that nature changed in those days.

After the change, we see hieroglyphics and such come to be used. It was at that time that Greece, and Egypt and I think it was Assyria became nations. All within several decades. I assume writing followed, as the word picture communication improved etc.
    No.

I am questioning some other book you claim existed apparently. When I read Genesis mentioning that what follows is the book of generations of Adam, I take that to mean something like

'Here comes the part of Genesis where we record the sons and years etc' not 'here is some reference to some mysterious book that was used to write Genesis'

Well, the thing is we do not know that he did or did not, so why claim that it was like that? For all I know, God told Moses and referred to the 'books' in heaven. Or maybe book was a term used for the records of sons...or maybe...etc etc.

Not sure why anyone would cling dogmatically to a claim on this.

Being perfect does not mean we had a need to learn 10 languages, or write, or etc etc. I see he talked with Jesus in the garden...not went to read books with Him.

So you're saying writing and reading is only necessary in a world with multiple language? I don't get the argument. I've never wanted written information based on the existence of other languages.

So I think what you're saying is book doesn't really mean book. But again, I'm not following why.

I don't think the charge of dogmatism is warranted. We're just taking about possibilities and logical inferences. Does books in heaven seem to be a logical inference?

I am saying that changes happened after the time of Babel, so we do not know the extent. Perhaps the way we process info (side of brain, brain size etc etc) was affected? Who knows?

I suspect that the laws and forces changed around the time pf Peleg. That is why modern science has problems with modelling the past based on today's nature. A nature change would affect man, and it seems that the only 'writing' we have is after the flood in early post flood civilizations. Life spans, the way we process information for languages, and many things changed a little while after the flood.

So do not tell me that men wrote back then just because the records of sons of Adam are called the book of generations in Genesis!

    Logic depends on starting assumptions.

Sorry, man. In my searchings and studies, the evidence points to the existence of pre-flood writings. I still don't know why you're so dogmatically opposed to it. Your reasons for denying it are not compelling to me.

Adam's brain would have been humanly perfect before the fall--making him the smartest man who ever lived. There would not have been more than one language until the Tower of Babel, would there? The Tower is thought to have been in Eridu.

Would he had spoken in Aramaic, the native tongue of Jesus?

My starting assumption is that Genesis was inspired no differently than the rest of the historical narrative books. I'm curious what yours is.

I don't know--what do you think? I think that Adam would have understood everything about the earth.

Yeah, but were multiple languages on the earth, let alone that specific language? I've heard arguments Hebrew was the original language, but not sure if they were good ones. It's possible the original Eden language still exists today. If it did, I would think it would be Hebrew (just a guess).

I suspect that the nature change and subsequent continental separation/uplift..etc etc may have ploughed the site miles under! Babel was in the days of Peleg as I mentioned. That was the time of the great changes. I think writing came after the dividing of tongues...man had to draw pics to communicate!
