It's well known that Calvinists burned more witches than the Inquistion. When they couldn't get enough in the old country, they took their act to the New World, and promptly went to work putting people on racks and in stocks, drowning people (if you survive you're a witch and we kill you, if you die you were innocent...oh well...) and of course, good 'ol Joan of Ark style bonfires.
Many settlers ran away from the pilgrims and found a better life with the Indians. Even women who were captured by the Native Americans and forced to marry into the tribe, once they were in, found they had a higher status and more freedom than they did amongst their own people.
These are facts of history. Calvinism is and has always been an oppressive religion.
No wonder John Piper has no pity on people in tragedy.

    Can you read?

How Comanche Indians butchered babies and roasted enemies alive | Daily Mail Online

    Wrong.

Also wrong. Having a poor explanation doesn't mean having no pity.

I'm starting to feel like Bill Maher having to defend W. against 9/11 truthers. Your having me defend Calvinism.

African American slaves found shelter with many tribes also.
By the way, the white man killed a lot more comanche, Cherokee, and other tribes than the Indians ever thought about. And the white man did it in the name of Calvin's version of God and belief in their manifest destiny. Slavery also. This is Calvin's legacy in this country.

    What nonsense brethren.

Native Americans are just as much descendants of Adam as the white "race" and are afflicted with the same disease of sin as any other "race".

No "race" has a history of purity from atrocities to fellow man.

    From the very beginning:

Genesis 6:5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
    ...
12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

But for the grace of God the human race would not exist.

Genesis 6:8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

I can find the same kind of thing the world over. Maybe you feel your putting people in there place, but before you judge you really should make sure you are pure enough to Judge. Since sin is not inheritable what do these things have to do with the Calvinist of today?

The Inquisition was a Catholic situation about Catholicism. The Calvinist left the Catholic faith because of there indulgences. Which was in my opinion a courageous thing to do. They risked there lives to get away from Catholicism. I applaud them for it. There are good and bad people in the world and there descendants are not responsible for there actions.
If you told us about your self I'll bet I can go online and find dirt about your ancestors. I know I can about mine.

My point is Calvinism was both the catalyst and the excuse for those atrocities. Let's abandon everything that the world can accuse Christianity of.
By the way, the judge ye not argument is babified.

Just so you know, most Native Americans are not too fond of African Americans. Yes, the White Man did butcher my people. He did so mostly in the name of greed.

So you discount scripture when it applies to you. You are not the Judge. The Lord is our Judge.

How in the world was CALVINISM (biblical teaching) the catalyst for the atrocities? Explain.

The pilgrims and large numbers of European settlers believed the new world was their promised land, the heathens that inhabited were like the Cannanites. They believed they had crossed over take it. They even tried to make the Indians into slaves. And the witch burning and cruel punishments are recorded in both history and alluded to in fiction. The Scarlet Letter was probably quite accurate in its portrayal of their cruelty.

No, judge ye not lest you be judged means to hold yourself to the same standard you judge others by. Read down to the next verse.

Your wrong one man is responsible and you wish to lump him together with what you hate.
    .
I am not Calvinistic I argue against what they believe. However they believe in Jesus Christ and that is what makes them Christian. You are condemning people who had nothing to do with with Calvin

    A tabloid? Really?
Your 'Comanche Indians' never set foot in Massachusetts. They lived far, far away in New Mexico, Texas, etc. Would have had no contact at all with those colonists in New England.
