Southwestern Seminary Dismantles Church Music Studies

Lots to disagree with what Aigner wrote and why (e.g., he seems to have a chip on his shoulder), but I believe that his basic information about the School of Church Music is correct -- downsizing the staff and eliminating certain degrees.

There has not been much directly announced about it, but in the April trustee meeting Greenway seemed to identify the music program as a place to make cuts and they renamed the School of Church Music to the School of Church Music and Worship.

Whatever you think of Aigner and Patheos, let's keep our eyes open for the unfolding of the crux of the matter. Afterward I'll invite you both over for supper.

They need to finish clearing out Paige's lackeys and Dorothy's ladies-in-waiting!

Pleased to see BJU grad Scott Aniol has apparently survived the layoffs at SWBTS.

Patterson had strongly supported having a real academy of church music, and pointing out that SWBTS was then the only SBC seminary continuing such, while all others had capitulated to 7-11 "worship" nonsense.

Like Patterson or not, his were words of wisdom now being dismantled by the so-called "progressives". Matters will get worse before they get better, I suspect.
