    The narrative is continuous but the question is different in verse 3, The temple question was answered in verse 2, A different question is posed in verse 3, the answer is not about the temple any more but signs of His coming and end times

    The position that the seven stars are pastors of the seven churches (candlesticks) was held by the venerable Matthew Henry as well as most of the Continental, Scottish, ad English Reformers. This is to @rlvaughn's point that this view has been widely accepted by the Church. Henry writes, "Sixthly, With the meaning of the seven stars, that they are the ministers of the churches; and of the seven candlesticks, that they are the seven churches, to whom Christ would now send by him particular and proper messages."

    Yes, the Reformed's Geneva Bible says Angel=Pastor:

    Also references the OT book of prophecy Malachi which uses the Hebrew word angel for priest.
