RECEIVING GOD'S SPIRIT IS CONDITIONAL ON BELIEVING AND FOLLOWING GOD'S WORD.

Receiving God's Spirit is condional on believing and following God's Word. If we are not born of the Spirit we are still in our sins. When Christ was with his disciples God's Spirit was not in them it was with them. It was not until the death of Jesus that the outpouring of God's Spirit was given to the dsciples.

JOHN 7:38-39
[38], He that believes on me, as the scripture has said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. [39], But this spoke he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.

JOHN 16:13 [13], However, when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.

Christ’s glorification and His ascension to heaven were necessary BEFORE the Holy Spirit could be given to His disciples. While He was alive as a human being, He told His disciples that He was WITH them, but He also said that there would come the time when He would be IN them. He referred, first, to His presence as a Man who was WITH them, but in the future, to the gift of His Holy Spirit which would dwell IN them (John 14:17). But in order for Christ to dwell IN His disciples (John 14:18; Galatians 2:20), through the Holy Spirit, He had to be first glorified with the glory which He had BEFORE He became a human being (John 17:5). As a mere human being, He could not live IN somebody else. That could only happen after He became again a glorified being.

When a true disciple of Christ receives God’s Holy Spirit, it is the Spirit of the Father AND the Son which emanates from both glorified God beings, and which dwells in the disciple (John 14:23; Romans 8:11, 14-17; Romans 8:9, second part; Galatians 4:6; Philippians 1:19).

Simply though it is exactly as it says it means. God's Sheep hear His Voice (the Word) and follow him (does what he says) *JOHN 10:1-4; JOHN 10:26-27.

No one said man is born again by their own free will. Being born again is the wordk of God in those who by their free will choose to believe God's Word *JOHN 3:15-21. It is the Spirit the quickeneth the flesh profit nothing the words that I speak to you, they are spirit, and they are life *JOHN 6:63. It is our faith in God's Word that gives us the victory to over come the world and be born of God *1 JOHN 5:4. Our free will is in believing God's Word or not believing God's Word *JOHN 3:15-21.

While it is true it is the work of God's Spirit that changes the heart to the new covenant promise of love *HEBREWS 8:10-12 if you do not believe God's Word than there is no promise for you and you cannot be born again. We are only born again as we choose to believe God's Word *JOHN 3:3-8; JOHN 3:18; 1 JOHN 3:6-10. We are saved by grace THROUGH FAITH in God's Word *EPHESIANS 2:8-9 and FAITH comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God *ROMANS 10:17. If there is no Word there can be no faith. If we choose to believe God's Word then there is faith. If you do not believe God's Word there is no faith and you cannot be saved.

No one said that anyone can receive anything if it is not given him from Heaven. If no one has said such things why are you pretending that they have? What is it that is given us from Heaven do you know? For God so loved the world that he GAVE his only begotten son that whosoever believes on him should not perish but have everlasting life *JOHN 3:16. JESUS is the gift of God that God gives us. JESUS is the living Word of God *JOHN 1:1-4 who came unto his own and his own received him not *JOHN 1:10-11; but has many as recevied him (believed his Word) gave he them power to become the sons of God, even to them that BELIEVED on him name *JOHN 1:12; who were born not of blood, nor of the will of men but of God *JOHN 1:13. The Word of God is God's gift if you do not believe it then you have no life in you and cannot be born of God. What we receive from Heaven is JESUS; the Word of God. We choose to believe or not believe. Only those who believe Gods Word are born again. Those who do not believe do not receive him or do they know him.

Now let's get something chear. We are only saved by grace through faith and not of ourselves it is a gift of God and not of works lest any man should boast *EPHESIANS 2:8-9. God's GRACE is given to mankind for OBEDIENCE to the faith *ROMANS 1:5. OBEDIENCE to God's Word is not how we are saved it is the FRUIT of God's work in us as we BELIEVE and FOLLOW his WORD. If our faith has no fruit it is dead *JAMES 2:18-20; 26 and our tree will be cast down and thrown into the fire *MATTHEW 3:10; 7:19-20; 13:49-50.

He came unto his own and His Own did not receive (believe) him JOHN 1:11. It is only those who receive him that he gives power to become born again to become sons and daighters of God *JOHN 1:12-13; JOHN 3:15. God's Word (JESUS) is given us from Heaven. If you do not BELIEVE (receive) Him you cannot be born again as we are only saved by grace THROUGH FAITH and faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. It is the Spirit the quickeneths the flesh profits nothing; the Words that I speak unto you they are Spirit and they are life *JOHN 6:63.

Now we have dealt with your interpretation and arguement. What does God's Word say on the subject?

John 3:15-16 (YLT)15 that every one who is believing in him may not perish, but may have life age-during, 16 for God did so love the world, that His Son -- the only begotten -- He gave, that every one who is believing in him may not perish, but may have life age-during.

Sorry brother your trying to argue here a false gospel and that we do not have to believe and follow Gods Word in order to receive eternal life. The false teaching of "once saved always saved" is a false gospel that has it's origin from the father of lies first proclaimed in the garden of Eden to Eve where the devil said you can break God's commandments (sin) and not surely die *GENESIS 3:1-5. All the scriptures you have provided in your post do not support your claims as they are to those who BELIEVE and FOLLOW God's Word not to those who do not believe and do not follow God's Word and also not to those who BELIEVED and followed God's Word yesterday and no longer believe and follow God's Word today *HEBREWS 6:4-8; HEBREWS 10:26-31.

According to God's WORD it is only those who are CONINUING in KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN that are "UNDER THE LAW" because they stand guilty before God of breaking it *ROMANS 3:19 and do not know God and need to be BORN AGAIN *1 JOHN 2;1-4; 1 JOHN 3:3-10.

According to God's WORD all those who CONTINUE in KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN will not enter into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN *HEBREWS 10:26-27 because they reject the gift of God's dear son *ROMANS 6:23. OBEDIENCE to God's LAW is not how we are saved it is the FRUIT of God's work in us as we BELIEVE and FOLLOW his WORD through love. If our faith has no fruit it is dead *JAMES 2:18-20; 26 and our tree will be cast down and thrown into the fire *MATTHEW 3:10; 7:19-20; 13:49-50.

ARE WE IN A SAVED STATE WHILE CONTINUING IN KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN?

THE HOPE OF ETERNAL LIFE AND CONTINUING IN THE FAITH

There are God's Word showing that we can have the assurance of salvation today as long as we BELIEVE and FOLLOW God's Word always in the "present tense" (now) and is why it is written we have the hope of eternal life now as we believe and follow God's Word...

TITUS 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

TITUS 3:7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

COLOSSIANS 1:22-23 [22], In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and blameless and unreproveable in his sight: [23], If you continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel..

However, it is only those who ENDURE temptation to the END BELIEVING and FOLLOWING God's Word that receive eternal life.....

JAMES 1:12 [12], Blessed is the man that endures temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to them that love him.

God's Word is full of warnings not to depart the faith and all these things are written for our admonition upon whom the ends of the world have come.

2 PETER 3:9 [9], The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Now brother you have not provided a single scripture here that says we cannot choose to believe and follow God's Word. We do indeed have a corrupt nature but God has given us a free will to choose to believe and follow God's Word or not believe and follow God's Word. While is it God's Work to change the heart, God does not change our heart unless we believe His Word. It is the Spirit the quickeneth the flesh profits nothing the Words that I speak unto you they are Spirit and they are life *JOHN 6:63. It is the Word of God that is given us from heaven. All we can do is to choose to believe or not believe God's Word and it is this very Word that brings faith and draws us to JESUS (the living Word of God) *ROMANS 10:17.
