What is the point? Why in Heaven's Name ever do such a thing?

    Confessing Jesus that Christ is Lord and Saviour, whom they personally desire to be Saved from their utter holiness in sin by?,

    ... as they have Come to Know Jesus, by The New Birth, When The Holy Spirit Regenerated their soul, from Eternal death, to Eternal Life, through The Eternally Giving Grace of God?

    "and shall believe in thine heart, that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved"

    Believing Christ's Resurrection includes the other Articles of Faith:

    That the sin Christ Died for was sin the unbeliever was quity before God, concerning?,

    ... which was Convicted by The Holy Spirit of God, by the Preaching of The Revealed Word of The Lord?

    .... and Having Had Repentance Toward God Bestowed into their being by God?

    ... and Giving Faith that Jesus Died for their sin, and was Buried, and His Resurrection from Death to Life Proved God Accepted Jesus' Payment for their sin debt against God?

    And 'Believing the other Implied Doctrines of Jesus, such as:' Belief supposing Jesus death, and that supposes Jesus'Perfect Life Sacrificed for their sin, and the Obedience of Jesus' Perfect Life, nessasary,

    ... with Jesus' Perfect Life impling Jesus being here on earth, and that His Coming down from Heaven to Do the Will of His Father,

    ... because Jesus Christ is Risen Again for their Justification, with which true Faith is principally concerned; for such a faith is intended,

    AND: not which lies in a mere assent to the truth of this,

    or any other article of the Christian religion;

    but which is concerned with Christ for Righteousness, Life, and Glory;

    ... and with such a Faith Salvation is certainly and inseparably connected?

    'Believing those things, for those reasons?

    Is that' why'?

    Much adapted from Gill's Roman's, because he roots and ferrets out ideas lost soul participate in such as : 'believing', "not which lies in a mere assent to the truth of this,

    "or any other article of the Christian religion", etc.

    I don't remember anything about asking about accepting hundreds of other gospel heresies as genuine professions of faith,
    which lie in a mere assent to the truth of 'repeat this prayer', etc.

    or any other article of the Christian religion;

    I am asking, "What is the point?

    " Why in Heaven's Name ever do such a thing?"

    ... as saying, "I have... placed faith and trust in Christ and confessed him as Lord"?

    Lost people don't have any idea.
