As some claim that there is a 5 fold ministry still happening in the Church!

Miracles still happen, even ones of God revealing Himself to people like unbelievers. However, the role of prophet has been gone since the end of Roman persecution, as far as I can tell so far in church history. Also, Paul claimed he was the last apostle (1 Corinthians 15:8).

There are no apostles or prophets, but I believe prophets could return in the End Times in the two witnesses and End Time church I believe is represented by the 144,000. I'm post tribulation Rapture. That said real prophets must pass the tests of Deuteronomy and the New Testament.

For our day there is a two fold ministry of evangelists (Sometimes called missionaries) and teacher/pastors.

God indeed can still do divine healing, or even miracles, but that would be Him, and not one gifted to be doing such today!

Apostles: probably NO ... but not an absolute impossibility.
Prophets: YES ... (some MAY even be true prophets, but I have met many false prophets for certain.)

Was that ever not the case?

[Acts 3:6, 12, 16 NIV]
  • 6 Then Peter said, "Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk." ...
  • 12 When Peter saw this, he said to them: "Fellow Israelites, why does this surprise you? Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk? ...
  • 16 By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus' name and the faith that comes through him that has completely healed him, as you can all see.

Some claim that they can even raise the dead today, so just curious how they do that!

SBC President JD Greear:

Summit Life with J.D. Greear • Are There Modern Day Prophets in the Church?

Greear: "I am very grateful for the prophets God has raised up"

Greear: "my friend David Platt....another example: Mark Dever"

Greear: "God is using them to speak to us. We must heed the message being given and ask God what we need to do with the truths they embody"

Baptist Press: International Mission Board's David Platt reports to the SBC Executive Committees

"Platt recounted the story -- which, though atypical in Western experience, bore similarities to biblical accounts of raising the dead -- during his report to the Southern Baptist Convention's Executive Committee, Sept. 19 in Nashville."

"'This Asian believer tells our missionary,' Platt said, 'that as they were praying there over the man, all of the sudden the man coughed. Everybody in the house got really still. And the man coughed again. People came rushing over, and the village leader started breathing'."

"'We have the Good News of a God who has conquered death, who has power to say to the dead, 'Come to life.' So brothers and sisters, let's work together to see thousands upon thousands of Southern Baptists proclaiming that Good News to the ends of the earth.'"

Well, the SBC Pastors' Conference this June has as headliners this prophet David Platt (now of McLean Bible Church) and Foursquare Pentecostal minister Wayne Cordeiro. Why not go and get tips?

Two of "The Four" who have the 'Together 4 the Gospel' (T4G) Conferences have been recognized as such. Mark Dever (prophet, see above) and CJ Mahaney (apostle).

And we wonder why the Church is so gullible and so far from sound doctrines today in many instances!

Problem is that God Himself never commissioned them!

Who claims that "they" can raise the dead?
(Not some third world nut with no following, but credible Charismatics )
word of faith teachers, and those holding to heresy such as the latterday rain, Dominion, 5 fold ministries etc!
