I have to admit: your arguments have been persuasive, and I'm beginning to come around to your point of view, sir.

The ESV would have far fewer problems if it had been based in the NRSV. Thus the NRSV is an improvement on the RSV but that seems to be a low bar.

I always try to keep an open mind to arguments that are presented in a logical, rational, factual manner.

The NRSV is better than the RSV.

But yet retains some of the errors.
RSV Hebrews 1:3, He reflects the glory of God . . .
NRSV Hebrews 1:3, He is the reflection of God’s glory . . .

Since when is "The true light . . ." a reflection?

Its seems to be used by both the Csb and the Nkjv though!

The esv is superior revision of rsv, not as much into Gender Inclusiveness!

Formal translations still to be preferred for serious bible studying!

Lets say the NRSV made 100 changes to the RSV. Lets say 50 of them were definite improvements. Now we have identified about 50 improvements that were not incorporated in the ESV. Such a pity!

P.S. Does anyone know the right number of modifications?

Not as literal as the Esv, too many Gender language renderings!

What has your post to do with the question, how many changes did the NRSV make? Please do not reply with your endless non-answers.

That is not a factor of superiority.

A variety of translations is best.

    It's just as formal.

Amazingly poor grammar and spelling is evidenced above.

No, you are wrong again. The NKJV makes the extreme claim that their translational philosophy is called 'complete equivalence.' That's a tad less than 'exact equivalence.' [sarcasm off]

This is now the third time I have asked the question above that Y-1 is studiously avoiding.

It is when overuse of inclusive language actually makes for a worse revision!

Yes, having several is good, but formal should be the primary one!
