The point is - your fellowship with him IS your relationship with Him.
You can't fellowship with somebody you don't have a relationship with.

ALL sin damages our relationship with God because it is moral evil and contrary to the nature of God Himself.

 

And that's my WHOLE point.
A stifling of your sanctification results in your NOT being saved.

You can't get to Heaven without being FULLY sanctified.
