Well one thing for sure. This is good news for Trump and his reelection. Even those who hated him are now arguing they're on his side.

The way I look at it, things could be a lot worse.

If this is directed at me, everything about this statement is wrong. As I have said before like my first post about covid19 on this forum, I will give credit to Trump and even encourage people to follow his plans when his plans are in line with good public health and medical advice. That happens when he listens to his medical and public health advisors.

I’m never on the side of any political leader or party. I do not hate any of them but have no love for any either. They all do some good and some bad. None are perfect or deserve our worship that is due to God.

This is laughable. I've talked to you often, and know this is not true. You hit Trump at every opportunity, and very unfairly. Your posts betray you. You are a hyper-partisan.

BTW, most media liberals make the same claim you are making about yourself. None of them think they are partisan.

As a possibility, yes, with great depression levels unemployment, I do believe this can happen (especially in a global great depression). All you have to do is study the great depression.

But if this helps you justify your 6% outright lie about the present.... :Rolleyes

I’m truly sorry that some of you guys are so panicked about the economic sacrifices that we all have to make for others in this country that you feel you need to come up with these cockamamie death risk comparisons of suicide increase and such and imaginary high infection rates to justify yourself for not wanting to take the death rate of the COVID-19 seriously enough to help with our national plan like a patriot and protect yourself and others by slowing the spread of this virus.

All I can tell you is that we are in good hands with our President and his team of experts and that we are handling this situation in the best ways possible.

I don't hold to the 6% death rate as being accurate. However, it is the result when you divide the number of deaths by the number of confirmed cases, so it will have to do for now.

A 6% death rate is a lie. If you can't say this plainly, you are participating in it.

OK, let's study the Great Depression.

In 1928 the US suicide rate was 18 per 100,000 people. It peaked at 22.0 in 1932 when the unemployment rate was 23%. In 1933 the suicide rate was 20.0 and the unemployment rate was 24.9%. By 1937 the suicide rate was 17.7 and the unemployment rate was 14.3%.

Yet you would have us believe the suicide rate will be 266.3 if unemployment rate hits 15%.

Says the guy touting the 6% death-rate lie, who is likely not going to feel the effects of the economic downturn.

Very possible, when you consider this would be a global economic depression and add in the very dangerous drugs available to the public today. Globalization and technology are game-changers. You'd be a fool not to take these into account.

The article I cited suggested a possibility based on one study and qualified it. Very honest. Even if the article is off by half or more, it is still devastating.

Meanwhile, you guys are flat out lying about the current death-rate.

I have asked you to do the math and told where these figures come from so I would appreciate if you would stop using it as an excuse to call people liars. You wouldn't talk that way to me face to face and I consider your action from hiding behind a keyboard to be rather cowardly, so that we understand each other?

ITL (your only ally) has admitted the death rate is not 6%. If you still say it is, you are lying, or totally ignorant and repeating a lie, believing it's true. I'm saying this claim is a lie. I'm not saying you're the originator of it. I'm not saying either way. And yes, I would say it to your face, but I doubt you're out in person saying things like this. But if you were, even liberals would call you out. No one believes the kill rate is 6%.

If you are too dense to understand my explanation and want to insist on calling others liars for your argument, I can't help you.
