“Five key facts are being ignored by those calling for continuing the near-total lockdown.

Fact 1: The overwhelming majority of people do not have any significant risk of dying from COVID-19.

Fact 2: Protecting older, at-risk people eliminates hospital overcrowding.

Fact 3: Vital population immunity is prevented by total isolation policies, prolonging the problem.

Fact 4: People are dying because other medical care is not getting done due to hypothetical projections.

Fact 5: We have a clearly defined population at risk who can be protected with targeted measures.”

The lockdowns need be phased out. To do otherwise, other than places like NYC, would be foolish based on the facts on the ground and would continue to inflict great financial, mental, and emotional harm on the American people, which could do way more damage to them than COVID-19 if the lockdowns continue unabated.

Sure. But use good scientific reasoning for when to do that, like Trump’s opening America plan. Don’t listen to hacks who try to trick you into thinking that covid19 is no big deal and easy to manage if you just open things up.

Except that Stanford is not a hack medical school. We don't care what you do in Australia, however.

Indiana has an indecisive country club Governor. He is going to tell us Friday--communist day--what he is going to do. Probably he will just shut down some empty hospitals ....

A guy in Indianapolis got shot 33 times in a drive-by--the verdict was that Chinese flu got him.

No they are not. But the serology study done by the group at Stanford has a lot of methodology problems and is widely criticized in the scientific community as I’ve told you, including using a test from a company in China that is currently banned from selling in the US because they sold unvalidated tests.

New Covid-19 Antibody Study Results Are In. Are They Right?

But we already know that there are a lot of undetected cases that will lower the death rate from the current CFR. So it isn’t a debate about whether that is true or not, but getting accurate data about the extent and what that means. It doesn’t mean that covid19 is no big deal like politically motivated sources are trying to tell you.

That is fine. I haven’t mentioned that you should care. Follow Trump’s opening America plan.

Trump has no legal power in this instance so we are going to do what the prima donna Governor says. We don't have socialized medicine as you do and Stanford University knows what they are doing and you have no clue what they are doing. You want us to copy the down and out UK system or the Australian lockup system. Australians have no bill of rights and their government says who gets medicine and who doesn't.

The USC group confirmed the source of the tests in the article you won’t read. The company that distributes the tests from China confirmed both the USC and Stanford groups used their tests.

You have no other details. At any rate, that has nothing to with this plan. Secondly, we have results from all over now so I'll stick with Stanford University and the University of Southern California (where I have been) over you. And, no, Trump has nothing to say in this matter at rhis time. And the Hoover Institution is one of the most careful think tanks in the USA. And another one is the Hudson Institute.

So based on your advice to us I imagine that we should tell you rich Aussies to stay home for a couple more years.

Are you calling this man a hack?

Scott W. Atlas, MD, is the David and Joan Traitel Senior Fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution and the former chief of neuroradiology at Stanford University Medical Center.”

When you write easily falsifiable statements and publish them, you are a hack.

I see. So anyone who disagrees with your doom-and-gloom absolutism is a “hack”. #Sad

Not at all. If he wrote something that took more than 5 minutes to show is false, I would definitely consider it.

Doom-and-gloomers glob on to the least bit of bad news and cradle it close to their hearts, while instantly disparaging the least bit or glimmer of hope offered in a difficult time. Any time someone lights a candle in the dark, they rush to blow it out. They remind me of the type of sports fan who, as soon as his team falls the least bit behind in a game, immediately declare that defeat is inevitable.

There is lots to give hope, like the fact that most countries are understanding the importance of controlling infection rates to battle covid19 and winning, some are safely opening up their lockdowns. And the Trump administration is making good public health based recommendations for how to safely open up state's economies (if states will listen to those recommendations). And vaccine development is moving at record pace. These are all things that give hope.

But articles that give false hope or try to say that covid19 is no big deal or use false data or arguments to mislead people are things that I can't stand for.

The Bible is spot on in describing the doom-and-gloomers:

“I have heard many such things; miserable comforters are you all. Shall windy words have an end? Or what provokes you that you answer?” - Job‬ ‭16:2-3‬ ‭ESV‬‬

So you would rather I not tell you when the articles you are quoting are lying to you?

This forum used to have the tagline - "And the Truth Shall set you free". Now the truth is unwelcomed.

Unfortunately global pandemics are not fun parties.

No offense intended, but I tend to place more creedence in the points made by well-respected doctors than your personal opinions, especially as it appears you have made it your goal in life, at the moment at least, to spread doom-and-gloom.
