    LOL

All the parts if you read the background to TULIP.

That being said, I know that most here only believe in the poster-board version of TULIP and not the Calvinism from which it comes. In many ways, I now understand why a previous moderator insisted on not being called a Calvinist and instead a Particular Baptist.

If you still want to base the name of what you believe on John Calvin, then at least add something to indicated that you're only a believer in the Soteriology of the stated five points of TULIP.

yes, but they believe the Spirit of God is always at work in a believer enabling the good works that are ordained for us to walk in.
True believers continue on in the way of Holiness

Understood. James uses works in a practical sense against Paul’s use in a theological sense.

Were it not that God had chosen some, heaven would have none.

James refers to how humans can see justification, while paul how God does!

If we would stick with what the Bible says I think that there would be a greater agreement on these boards. Two people could see what was being discussed and talk about how the words are interpreted differently. There will always be differences of interpretation so there would still be a lot to discuss (e.g, expiation vs propitiation vs atonement).

But with the topic of the OP we are speaking of philosophical differences. We cannot go to Scripture because what is being discussed finds support in Scripture but is not itself in the Bible. It would be like discussing wither Ford or Chevy were the better vehicle based on pulling stewardship verses out of Scripture to support one's position.

Not only that, but the cross is not a saving instrument at all.

R.C. Sproul, a strong advocate of Reformed doctrine, calls the "Perseverance of the Saints," the "Preservation of the Saints." They are "Preserved," not because of self-effort, but because God foreordained their "Preservation."

And isn’t that a crying shame to Baptist’s? Unless they say they were “reformed” from the Protestant Presbyterians.

Thank you, Earth, Wind, and Fire.

I began some posts on several brothers, from the first few Centuries, that held to The Doctrines within the acronym, 'T.U.L.I.P.

How there is even a discussion of 'Calvin', with regard to opposing these Bible Doctrines, ALSO HEALD BY EVERY MAN & WOMAN of GOD, from Adam to John, is "BEYOND ME".

Is that why Cain turned out that way, because Adam taught him TULIP?

Cain is of his father, TULIP.
