Where was Jesus During the 40 Days?

Just read a very interesting thread in the Fundamental Baptist Forum entitled "Where Was Jesus for Three Days?" Where was Jesus for 3 days?
and was wondering where He was during the 40 days He stayed around from after His resurrection to His ascension.

"To whom he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them 40 days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:..."
Acts 1:3

Just before that in John 21:14 it says that He showed Himself three times to the disciples.

In John 20:26 there was a space of eight days between His first and second appearances to the group of disciples.

He appeared to the two disciples on the road to Emmaus, Luke 24:13-32.

Do you think there is any credence to historical legends and Mormon doctrine that He appeared in South America?

No.
It runs contrary to the rest of Acts and the Great Comission.

I suspect He visited His family and explained to them who He is. Remember, James and His other brothers taunted Him at one point. There is no indication they believed prior to the resurrection.

Additionally, Paul tells us more than 500 people saw Him alive during that period.

In addition to the passages listed above, we also have where Peter and some of the disciples went fishing and saw Jesus on the shore.

The appearances mentioned in the scripture did not take up 40 days IMO.
There is, to my knowledge, no scriptural detail covering most of His post resurrection time on earth.
However His Spirit has always been here, "For in him we live, and move, and have our being;,,,"

Thanks for trying Oseas but those verses say there was a war in heaven and the Devil was thrown out to us.
Micheal was involved in that war but in heaven (verse 7).

There is nothing within the context of these paragraphs that suggests that Jesus visited the Western Hemisphere to present the Gospel to anyone. It is very clear that Jesus “made proclamation to imprisoned spirits”, not preached the Gospel to people living far, far away.

What L. Taylor Hansen has written in his book, it has nothing to do with the Word of God-the Word is God; God is Spirit.

Judged by the Word of God, the content above written by the Mormons it is tares. The Spirit speaks expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of demons, as the book of L. Taylor Hansen, a sower of tares.

About the doctrines of demons preached in present time, Scriptures warned us, as is written in 2Timothy 4:v.3-4:
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

They are lost. Revelation 21:v.8 - 8 But the fearful(coward), and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and ALL LIARS, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Where was JESUS during the 40 days?
