Yeah, Isaiah 10:5-16 is my personal opinion.that is your personal opinion, the Bible very clearly says what it does, as shown in the texts in the OP.

Yeah, Isaiah 10:5-16 is my personal opinion.that is your personal opinion, the Bible very clearly says what it does, as shown in the texts in the OP.
The view I hold, as I have already said, acknowledges God has given the authority to impose the death penalty to governments. I don’t believe Christians should support it.1 Timothy 1
15 The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost. 16 But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life.
NOTHING here is against God's own punishment for murder. This passage is being misused to justify peoples private views which go against the Word of God.
Yeah, Isaiah 10:5-16 is my personal opinion.![]()
The passage from 1Tim gives a clear command that Christians are to follow as an example.
The verse clearly states it is an example of mercy given by Jesus for future Christians to follow.only as "applied" by yourself and others who hold your view. The texts in the OP are very clear, which are for US Christians. My last word with you on this.
Who is saying that there are contradictions? Quoting Scripture that you refuse to deal with is not the same thing as claiming the Bible has contradictionsthis does not change what the Lord has instructed us Christians in His word. There is no Biblical argument that can be made that goes against the clear commands of the Lord, as per the passages in the OP. there is NO contradictions in the Bible, only misunderstandings and misapplications by users of the Word! End of.
I would see God permitting this for Murder 1 cases, if there is absolute proof of their guilt!
There is nothing in the written word of God where God has rescinded His command as given in Genesis 9:6.
Under the NC , would say that the death penalty for murder 1 can be enforced still, but that would be before the Mosaic Lee, so all other crimes mean jail time!meaning what? brutal rape, murder, etc, should no longer be punished? I think that this "Under Grace" thing is a smokescreen! Are you and others who follow this thinking, suggesting that we do not punish anyone for crimes? So, by using one passage in the Bible, for example, John 7:53-8:11, where Jesus "forgives" (Grace) this woman, that all adultery should no longer be punished in our society? And murder should also simply be "forgiven"? We will then have a more lawless world!
ONLY crime that still has the death penalty!God can choose to do anything that He wants to, because He IS God. He has told us in His Word in both Testaments what the penalty is for crimes like murder, which the Bible verses in the OP affirm. Anyone who disregards or excuses this from misapplication of the Bible, will be held accountable by the Lord!
True as that would be a Universal truth. before law even was given! There is nothing in the written word of God where God has rescinded His command as given in Genesis 9:6.
ONLY crime that still has the death penalty!
19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
Romans 12:19
And I think nobody has disputed that murder is a heinous crime that the civil authorities can properly punish. Go back and read my first post. I have no issue with the death penalty. I am not a pacifist.I think that you and some others did not understand what I said in the OP? It is the Law as given by the Lord in His Word, that we have a responsibility to carry out. It is the Lord's Law, so He is The Avenger, even though we are carrying out His orders.
Murder special case, before Mosaic Law!so who changed the law for rape, kidnapping, etc, that also in the Law of God, carries the death penalty? It still stands in the Bible!
... and rape:Murder special case, before Mosaic Law!
But I believe as Christians, we are called to forgiveness
Murder special case, before Mosaic Law!
