    " For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." ( Ephesians 2:10 ).

    " But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God." ( John 3:21 ).

    " Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of [his] good pleasure." ( Philippians 2:12-13 ).

    My friend, it appears to me that a prepared assignment, from God's perspective, is indeed a completed assignment.

    Anything that God ordains, inevitably comes to completion....
    Whether prophesied events, His work in the lives of believers, or His deciding to save one and not the other.
    We are all at the mercy of His power and grace.

    Examples:

    Those that He has ordained to eternal life ( Acts of the Apostles 13:48 ), will believe.
    Those that were given to Him by His Father ( John 6:37 ), shall come to Him.
    Those that have believed on Him, truly, actually have eternal life ( John 3:16, John 5:24, John 6:40 )…the proof of that is the seal of the indwelling Spirit ( Ephesians 1:13 ), their confessing Him as Lord and Christ ( 1 John 5:1 ), and their overcoming the world by their faith ( 1 John 5:4 ).

    Which are all gifts that we know cannot be purchased by any means.

    But then you later repented of your refusal, didn't you? ;)

    One of the fruits of the Holy Spirit is faithfulness...for believers, that would mean to have faithfulness towards Christ. And not getting offended at Him for what He says or does.

    Christ explains why in John 6 some of the disciples left off from following Christ, not believing what He said, they got offended. But the ones who remained had come to believe in Him, because God had granted they come to believe in Christ. God reveals the deep things of God to our spirit by His Holy Spirit, this is known as revelation of the knowledge of Him, without that revelation into your spirit from the Father, you will not believe in His Son, and you will depart the faith. Later Jesus also says to Peter that flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father in heaven has; the flesh profits nothing..

    60 Therefore many of His disciples, when they heard this, said, “This is a hard saying; who can understand it?”
    61 When Jesus knew in Himself that His disciples complained about this, He said to them, “Does this offend you? 62 What then if you should see the Son of Man ascend where He was before? 63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.

    64 But there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who would betray Him.

    65 And He said, “Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father.” (as the flesh profits nothing, the ones leaving did not have an anointing from God to know who Christ is, they were not spiritually alive)

    66 From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more.

    67 Then Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?”
    68 But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69 Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

    Thanks for your help.
    We are all going to die in this life.

    Do you think you will be completely happy and can say you did all you could (in the Spirit) for God on this side?

    At the judgement many of us will suffer loss:
    If any man's work shall be burned,
    he shall suffer loss;
    but he himself shall be saved;
    1 Corinthians 3:15

    I assume those burned works are those from in the flesh:
    whether they are those when I wrongly thought I was "in the Spirit"
    or just plain works of the flesh, of a carnal mind.

    but that memory may be erased in eternity.
    Then we will be as happy as we can bear.

    I look forward to that but on this side I am not that optimistic.

    Can you honestly say you will have completed all the works He ordained for you here?
    Are not we coworkers with God?

    For we are labourers together with God.
    1 Corinthians 3:9

    What do you say when part of the co was willingly not co operating?

    " For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I [am] of Apollos; are ye not carnal?
    5 Who then is Paul, and who [is] Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?
    6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
    7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
    8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
    9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, [ye are] God’s building."
    ( 1 Corinthians 3:4-9 ).

    SGO, take a look at this a little closer...
    Who are the laborers, who labored together with God?

    Are they not Paul and Apollos?;)

    That the Lord is still working through His children that thing which is well-pleasing in His sight, my friend.

    It is good to be positive.

    At the judgement many of us will suffer loss:
    If any man's work shall be burned,
    he shall suffer loss;
    but he himself shall be saved;
    1 Corinthians 3:15

    Any "good" work is from God and I am just there hanging around.

    So it would seem...
    Nevertheless, "hang" in there and trust Him.

    That is what faith does.:)

    Be glad because without Him you would not be saved from this evil world.
    Everyone born here is the enemy of God as they are of this world and at enmity with God and must be converted-changed.

    James 4:4
    Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God?
    Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

    John 15:16
    You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.

    John 15:19
    If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

    1 Corinthians 1
    30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption— 31 that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.”

    Acts 3:16
    And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know.
    Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

    Romans 5:10
    For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

    Yes without His (Christ's) sacrifice, which demonstrates love in the highest, I would not be saved.
