THE THREE PERSONS (One God in Three Persons: The Father and The Son and The Holy Spirit. Who are coeternal, coessential and coequal. neither Person is greater, or higher, or more important than the other)
Yet another fundamental Doctrine of the Christian Faith, which has always been attacked by those who do not understand what the Holy Bible has to say; and by those who reject it out of hand, because it does not "fit" into their theological "system", like the present day Jehovah's Witnesses, and every other false cult. The Holy Bible is very clear, that there is only ONE God, as we read in Deuteronomy 6:4, "Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, is one Lord". And there are numerous Scripture references that do very clearly teach the same Truth. So, what then is this Doctrine of The Holy Trinity. Firstly it must be stated, that it does NOT teach that there are Three Gods, as the Jehovah's Witnesses foolishly charge those who believe in this Doctrine, with. With equal clarity, to those who will accept the Truth, this same Holy Bible teaches us that there are Three "Persons" (Rational Individuals), Who are called "God", in the fullest sense of the word. As you will see from the various works in this section, the evidence is there for those who honestly want to know what the Holy Bible does say on this fundamental Doctrine.
Thus, from the Old Testament we see reference made to Jesus Christ, Whose Name is (present tense) among others, "Mighty God" (Isaiah 9:6). But, say the doubters and those who will not accept the Truth as taught in Scriptures, that, the Hebrew can be translated as "Mighty Hero"; or it might say "Mighty God", but not "Almighty God". To the first it is replied, that in the next chapter of Isaiah, the same Hebrew, "'el gibbor", is used for "Yahweh" (see, 10:21), and yet there is no one who has ever suggested that we render it here as "Mighty Hero"! If the exact Hebrew phrase says "Mighty God" in the latter use, then on what grounds, except theological bias, can it be rendered anything else? Note, these Names are ALL spoken of The Child, Who is Jesus Christ. To the latter I reply, what, if any, difference is there to be made between "Mighty or Almighty"? The fact still remains, that we have Two separate Persons Who are both equally called "'el gibbor", and with the exact force of the Name in both places! In Isaiah again we read, where "Yahweh" is the Speaker: "I even I am the Lord, and beside Me there is no Saviour" (43:11). This can only be understood as saying that Yahweh is the ONLY SAVIOUR. Yet, we read in the New Testament, of Jesus Christ: "For unto you is born this day in the city of David, Saviour, Who is Christ The Lord" (Luke 2:11). And, "you shall call His Name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their sins" (Matthew 1:21). "and they shall call his name Immanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us."(Matthew 1:23). In the Greek it reads, "ho theos" (the God). No doubt that Jesus is YAHWEH!
Creation is the act of none other than Almighty God, as we read in the opening verse of Genesis: "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth...". Now, we are told in the Book of Job, that "The Spirit of the Lord made me..."(33:4). The Hebrew word for "made" is "asah", which is used in Genesis chapter one, when we read, "and God made..."(v.7), "let us make man..."(v.26), etc, which are for "creation". It does not say in Job that "the Lord made me through His Spirit", but the Holy Spirit is spoken of as the One Who is the actual Creator! Then, we are told in the account of Ananias and Sapphira, in Acts chapter five, that Ananias had by his deception, "lied to the Holy Spirit" (verse 3). Yet, in the following verse we read, "you did not lie to men, but to God (Greek, The God)", where it is very clear that two facts can be seen here. Firstly, the Holy Spirit has to be a "Person", and not some "active force" which the Jehovah's Witnesses and others blasphemously teach. Only a "Person" can be lied to, you cannot "lie" to the "wind"! Secondly, the Holy Spirit is clearly shown to be "God", and in the Greek we have the definite article used, "toi theoi" (The God), which cannot be watered down to mean anything less! We this and other Scriptures, it is clear that the Holy Spirit is also YAHWEH!
It is therefore evident from the teachings of The Holy Bible, that there are indeed Three Persons, Who are distinct Individuals, called "God". Where they are coequal, coessential and coeternal, which shows beyond any doubt that the Doctrine of The Holy Trinity is no invention of any man, but the plain teaching of The Holy Bible, which ALONE is The Word of Almighty God!
Infallibility, Inerrancy, Trustworthiness and Absolute Authority
We are living in a time, when the Holy Bible is under attack as never before in the History of the Christian Church. In the past we have had the "Liberals" within the Church, who have sought to undermine and even destroy the absolute Authority of the Holy Bible, with so-called "higher criticism" of the text of the Holy Bible. While this still exists to some extent even in our own time, yet there is a far greater danger that has crept into the Church, and which is being pushed, not by the "Liberals" alone, but, even by those who would call themselves "Evangelical". Thus, we have men like Dr Bernard Ramm, in his book, "Christian View of Science and Scripture", state the following: "If the differences between the sciences and the Bible were to grow to a very large number, and were of the most serious nature, it would be questionable if we could retain faith in Scripture. True we may believe some of the Bible in spite of science, but certainly the situation would change if we believed all of the Bible in spite of science" (page, 29) This is what is meant by "a far greater danger"! These men, under the guise of being "evangelical", dare to question the reliability of the teachings of The Word of Almighty God, just because fallen man, with a very limited knowledge and understanding might conclude something that does not "agree" with the Word of God. And, these who are leaders in the Christian Church, call upon us to reject what the Scriptures teach, in favour of the "doctrines of men"! This is what the Apostle Paul rightly calls, "doctrines of demons"!, where foolish and deluded "leaders" in the Church suppose that Almighty God would present to us in His Most Holy and Infallible Word, things that are not true! The very character of God, the fact that He can NEVER lie, which is against His Holy Nature, is being called into question and challenged by sinful men. My friends, this is VERY serious indeed. There are others, who say that the Holy Bible can be trusted when it speaks on matters that relate to "Salvation" and "Faith"; but, cannot be fully trusted when it speaks on issues that relate to science, history, etc! Has God Almighty become the author of lies? These blasphemous statements are those that find their origin in the pit of hell, and from the father of lies, the devil, and must be completely rejected as being satanic!
The Holy Bible, in its Original Autographs, of the 66 Books that we have, as found in Versions like the King James, New American Standard, etc, were as the Apostle Paul puts it, "pāsa graphē theopneustos", that is, "ALL Scripture is God-Breathed" (2 Timothy 3:16); which is the verbal, plenary Inspiration of the entire 66 Books, and were completely without any errors, and Infallible and Inerrant in everything that it teaches. Because of the nature if its Inspiration, that it is indeed the Word of Almighty God, that it can and must be fully and completely trusted by man, and can be relied upon for whatever it teaches. So, when we read in Genesis chapter one, that God Created the entire universe in six days, we can take it to mean just that. That it was in six twenty-four hour days as we know it now. And, when we read of Adam and Eve, we can accept that as fact, that they were indeed real. literal, historical people. And when we read that God caused the sun to stand still for Joshua, and parted the Red sea for Moses, that He did just that, 100% True, not a flicker of doubt, because it is given to us in The Word of God, Who CANNOT LIE!
We exist to encourage those who seek to know the Truth as taught in the Holy Bible, and to come humbly before our Great God and Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, and to take His yoke upon us, and to learn from Him! If we have the right heart before the Lord, in true humility, and with no self esteem or pride, then, and only then can the Holy Spirit lead us into His Truth.
