Think in Hebrew, where we also get hovering!Brooding?
Where'd you get that?
No, Jesus did, John 13:16. Was Jesus sent? John 17:3.Are you saying that the Father is greater the Jesus?
No, Jesus did, John 13:16. Was Jesus sent? John 17:3.
I understand that this is your belief. But when discussing your opinions with those if other views it does no good to keep on spouting them (saying something over and over again does not make it true).Jesus experienced while upon that Cross the very same all lost sinners will in Judgement by God for their sins!
Saying "it is quite clear" (to you) does not make it Scripture or clear to others. Your "clear understanding" has been rejected by most Christians (historically), so perhaps there is a reason you cannot quite grasp exactly how you get from Scripture to your view (you do not grasp that you are reading your presuppositions into the text)It's quite clear. He was punished for our sins. We won't be. Your pedantry notwithstanding, that's a substitute.
Since they are BOTH equally Yahweh. how can one be greater then the other? No, Jesus did, John 13:16. Was Jesus sent? John 17:3.
Does God wrath abide forever upon those lost sinners not found in Christ?I understand that this is your belief. But when discussing your opinions with those if other views it does no good to keep on spouting them (saying something over and over again does not make it true).
The point of discussing opposing views is to explain how you get from Scripture to your position.
You have historically failed miserably on this front. You provide Bible verses and then say something those verses do not, as if it were there in invisible ink for your eyes only. Or you make wild claims that Jesus and Paul shared your view (but unfortunately did not think to write it down).
Scripture says Jesus died for us. Why do you think this means "instead of us"?
Scripture says the chastening for OUR well-being being fell upon Him. Why do you think this means God was punishing Jesus?
Scripture says by His stripes we are healed. Why do you think those stripes was the wrath of God?
Our viewpoint the main one among both Reformed and Baptists, why do you make it as if no one else has held to it?Saying "it is quite clear" (to you) does not make it Scripture or clear to others. Your "clear understanding" has been rejected by most Christians (historically), so perhaps there is a reason you cannot quite grasp exactly how you get from Scripture to your view (you do not grasp that you are reading your presuppositions into the text)

Some seem to have real problems for Jesus having to suffer and endure that wrath of the father towards sins!John 3.36

I never made that you were the only ones that held it.Our viewpoint the main one among both Reformed and Baptists, why do you make it as if no one else has held to it?
The Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hand. The one who believes in the Son has eternal life, but the one who disobeys the Son will not see life—but the wrath of God remains on him.Does God wrath abide forever upon those lost sinners not found in Christ?
Only empty suits make claims of mind reading.Van you really don't know what you are talking about![]()
You at not discussing anything, just posting nonsense. Do you know what Greek word is translated atonement in the KJV, and that the same word is translated reconciliation in modern translation? Why not use a word with a known meaning, rather than a word is a special Calvinism meaning that is never defined? We are not here discussing limited vrs unlimited atonement, but the view on the atonement itself!
Only empty suits use name calling to defend error.Semi pelagianism is not the biblical teaching , so why attempt to derail a thread with your failed theory.
Did you just call me a name?Only empty suits use name calling to defend error.
....guess you were right.
And once again we have a post designed to change the subject from the false doctrine of Calvinism. This is all they have, post ambigous claims, without specific support from scripture, then disparage those who differ. As I said, Calvinists are empty suits, without any discernment based on scripture.Did you just call me a name?....guess you were right.

It is not what people have or don't have problems with. It is what Scripture says and does not say. We both know Scripture does not say God punished Jesus, Jesus experienced divine wrath, or Jesus suffered and died instead of us.Some seem to have real problems for Jesus having to suffer and endure that wrath of the father towards sins!
