White liberals are significantly more likely than other groups to have a mental health condition, according to a Pew Research Center survey.

The Pew study, which The Washington Free Beacon notes was published last year but only gained attention in a recent article, showed that white liberals of all ages were more likely to be diagnosed with a mental health condition than moderates or conservatives, with the disparity particularly pronounced among those aged 18-29, according to Evie Magazine.

Among young white liberals, 46% reported being diagnosed with a mental health condition, a rate much higher than young white moderates (26%) and young white conservatives (21%).

Broken down by ideological identification to an even greater extent, young white people who identified as "very liberal" were almost one and a half times more likely to report mental health problems than those who identified merely as liberal.

While the disparities are not surprising, even some of the lower rates seem disturbingly high.

Since it's a survey, it is self-reported. Many "conservatives" don't realize they are mentally ill.

And remember, ADD, ADHD, PTSD, and depression are mental conditions. There are plenty of people here in this forum who have suffered, or continue to suffer, from one or more of these conditions.

I've already been put in this group by several forum members but have you included yourself?

You who have publicly stated you are "not OK with abortion" yet voted for President Biden.

    Not ok enough.

Diagnosis via internet forum is less than exact, especially since the anonymous natural of the beast encourages the behaviors noted in #7 even from folks who otherwise don't display them.
It's true that not all who are mentally ill realize their condition, and I'd guess that the non-awareness occurs across the political spectrum.

It seems that you have made an idol of overcoming abortion through political means. I've already explained this previously, but you won't let it go.

Abortion simply will not be stopped because of any Supreme Court ruling. Destroying the credibility of the Gospel message by ignoring the teachings of Jesus to elect persons who promise to nominate certain kinds of judges to the Supreme Court is idolatry. It presumes that power changes hearts. People have been aborting children for 5000 years, with or without government sanction. Moreover, people have killed their born children in many ages of history, including in the Greco-Roman empire at the time of the early church. The first century church actually changed the culture of abortion and, especially, infanticide, by being faithful to Jesus and emphasizing by their words and deeds the value of children and human life.

Most of the so-called "pro-life" does not support helping families feed their children, providing childcare and housing, and educational opportunities so children in disadvantaged families can excel. The reason is that it would cost money and would violate another idolatry of American culture, the rugged individualist, where we are give little consideration to the welfare of the rest of society in our quest for self-actualization. All of the noise around not wearing masks (even here, on an allegedly "Christian" site) is a prime example of that.

So please spare me your concern over my vote against Trump and my concerns for the unborn, because it is not a contradiction at all. If anything a vote for Trump was more of a contradiction.

Murder an idol. How nice for you to couch it in those terms.

No, the idolatry is the reliance upon political means to reach an objective at the expense of being a faithful disciple of Christ.

By the way, I'm not trying to be "nice" or "politically correct." I am speaking of what is true and real.

You castigate me for voting against Trump -- a person pushing antichristian behavior -- who has been remaking American society (and especially evangelicals) in his image. Under his influence, evangelicals have seem to have forgotten how to discern truth from lies, the Kingdom of God from Trumpism, and the power of God from the powers of this world.

Liberals have to minimize abortion to justify their support of those who support it. Disgusting

Because I am talking about motivations. I would have voted for just about anyone who was not Trump, including Bernie Sanders, who believed in the rule of law. I don't agree with much of the Democratic Platform, nor much of the Republican Platform.

LOL. That’s classic gaslighting. Dems care nothing for the rule of law. Dems only care about power. Their last two candidates for president were and are known to be blatantly, deeply corrupt. The one previous acted like a king, even to the point that Bill Maher had to admit it.

How about the rule of life?

I chose the Presidential candidate who had not spent the past five years cursing everyone who did not stroke his ego, undermining even the concept of truth, expressing contempt and telling lies about refugees, and refusing the rule of law -- even the legitimacy of the 2016 and the 2020 elections, and inciting an attack on his Vice President and Congress.

Your posting of abortion images doesn't change my deep conviction (based on the teaching of Jesus, scripture, and history) that voting for so-called "pro-life" candidates, no matter their character or what they say and do, is an idolatry. Anything that comes before faithfulness to God is idolatry. Did you take President Trump and his supporters to task when he did things that were wrong? If you didn't because you were too scared to face criticism from others, or you didn't want to alienate evangelicalism from Trump because you would lose influence/power, then you have nullified your prophetic role and you have tied the Gospel of Jesus to Trumpism.

And if you don't know the difference between the Gospel of Jesus and Trumpism, then you are in big trouble.

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. 2 Corinthians 5:10
