I am doing a bible study in the book of Hebrews. As I study and listen to other sermons, I heard one message that suggests the reason why there is no introduction in the book is that it likely is a sermon that was given by a contemporary of Timothy. Someone there, perhaps Luke, wrote down the sermon and it now is in the canon of scripture.
I had never heard this before, but the structure and presentation does suggest this as a viable consideration.
What do you think? Is the book of Hebrews an early recording of a sermon? If you read the entire book, it takes about 45 minutes, which would be a nice length for a sermon.
