So?....And?
If you want to add some substance to what is basically a no response to what I ACTUALLY wrote, it might help to explain your position.

Then, on what basis are you saying that I have no idea what I am talking about or that I am ignorant? Why the personal attacks and personal insults? As far as I know, we have never even interacted on this board before. This is supposed to be a Christian message board, not Twitter. I explained my position on pay earlier in this thread. Why not deal with that instead of the personal attacks?

I am sorry if your perception is I used 'personal attacks' or 'personal insults'., then I apologize. I am disagreeing with what you wrote, your position on the OP. I have countered your position that women deserve equal pay in US soccer and some of the things you wrote concerning this OP. For instance, you think the US women's team could beat the men's team and others. You have either disregarded my points or blew them off without refuting them. That is why I say your 'position' is based on ignorance. I did not call you ignorant. Also, if you have, as you say, 'watched LOTS of soccer' and still made some of the comments you did, that does not help your position. So, again I apologize if you think I am personally attacking you and not your position.

Apology accepted.

I said, "Wouldn't surprise me in the least if in a head-to-head competition, that the U.S. women would beat the U.S. men."

As far as I am concerned saying that something wouldn't surprise me is not the same as saying that it is going to happen.

I am sure that this pay issue is a big deal to the U.S. Women's National Team program and that their paltry results in world competition is a cause of concern to the U.S. Men's National Team program, but for us fans it should just be a source of friendly banter and discussion.

Wow! I imagine you have a huge problem with me watching professional wrestling and watching and wagering on horse racing. :D

Nope. I have a problem with people who do hobbies for a living and cry about how they aren't making a million and one dollars when they are making a million dollars.

Irrelevant to how poor the U.S. men's national team fares on the world stage compared to the U.S. women's national team.
Though the above point is obviously correct, some context is relevant. In most countries, men's 'futbol' has long been THE sport and most of the very best athletes gravitate to it. In the US, 'soccer' is far down the list in sport popularity, though nowhere near as far down as it was several decades ago, and most of the very best male athletes go into American football, basketball, baseball, etc. Thus the US men's World Cup teams hold a small fraction of the top athletes but play teams that have far larger share of their country's best. We shouldn't be surprised at the modest results. It reminds me of ice hockey 50-60 years ago when the NHL was almost all Canadians; the US men couldn't really complete.
Women's World Cup is more recent, 1991 compared to 1930 (and FIFA was involved with international competitions decades earlier), so countries outside the US had less of a head start. Also, the professional sport opportunities for women in the US are very small compared to those for men, and I'm confident that women's soccer's share of the best US women athletes is far larger than men's soccer's share of top male athletes. The results are what they are, but there's some apples/oranges comparison as well.
On average, men run faster, kick harder, would outcompete for headers (usually being taller), have bigger goalkeepers - the women might not get embarrassed, but I doubt they would beat the men very often.
