If a person is on an Island, and all they find is John 3:16, revisited.

If a person is on an Island, and all they find is John 3:16,
will believing that save them?

"That He Gave His Only Begotten Son", Teaches that there was a "Punishment for SIN".

Did God Work this CONVICTION in their heart
that they are a Law-breaker, against God's Eternal Moral Law?

...and deserve the Punishment for sin that Christ Suffered.

"Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again,
he cannot see the kingdom of God
." John 3:3

Has God, "Opened his heart", the way God Did Lydia's
and everyone else that has ever been Saved?

That is, "The New Birth" that God Gives an "Open Heart",
to Believe THE GOSPEL,
of Jesus' Death, Burial, and Resurrection,
for their soul, personally,
"for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth;
to the Jew first, and also to the Greek."
Romans 1:16

If they show themselves to be Repentant Believers in The Gospel,
they are the, "whosoever believeth in Him", John3:16b

and "The Elect",
John 3:21 ... he that doeth truth cometh to the light,
that his deeds may be made manifest,
that they are wrought in God
."

If they are not, "The Elect", or if they are,
then, and He Doesn't Save them, now,

then: until it is GOD'S APPOINTED TIME,
they are among the ....

John 3:18b; "he that believeth not is condemned already
because he hath not believed in the name
of the only begotten Son of God.

19 "And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world,
and men loved darkness rather than light,
because their deeds were evil.

20 "For every one that doeth evil hateth the light,
neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved."

...

1.) There is enough in John 3:16 for The Holy Spirit to USE
to Bring Conviction, Repentance, and Faith, which is The New Birth,
after having their heart OPENED to BELIEVE THE GOSPEL,
of Jesus' Death, Burial, and Resurrection,

2.) There is also enough there for The Holy Spirit to USE to Condemn.

John 3:18b; "he that believeth not is condemned already
because he hath not believed in the name
of the only begotten Son of God.

"According to the Good Pleasure
which He Has Purposed in Himself
" Ephesians 1:b.

16 "For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life."

A problem in what you say, they would not know the gospel from Jn 3:16 so would not know of the death burial & resurrection of Christ

This I agree with because as God has said in Romans 1:20 we are without excuse. So that basic knowledge of God would be there and John 3:16 would give the person the answer to the question of where did this all come from.

As Alan demonstrates people can read John 3:16 but not understand it.
It says everyone believing into Him. It does not say how a person "in Adam" is relocated to within Christ.

Opened the heart refers to making something understandable to the person. It does not refer to "irresistible grace" that claim is fiction.

Scripture says the gospel is the power of God for salvation, it does not say Irresistible grace is the power of God for salvation.

The one who sticks to the truth comes toward the light so that his or her deeds may be seen as according to God's desire.

Right, if the individual is depending on "Electing" themself,
they will die and go to Hell, Forever, and "perish" in The Lake of Fire.

In the hearts of all that are in the world sufficient light is perceived, but not all people believe, so being saved. Many, although they have seen His nature, refuse to seek Him, to their hearing the gospel. And many, although they have heard the gospel, do not believe on Christ. Therefore all receive a fair chance, otherwise God is not fair.

"FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON"

His incarnation and vicarious death presuppose the Fall and depravity and guilt of men, and the need of regeneration, justification, and sanctification; from : http://www.ntslibrary.com/PDF Books/An Alarm to the Unconverted.pdf
Christ Cannot Be Preached Apart From Doctrine

"that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

That Everlasting Life Has Been Acquired to Give presupposes His resurrection.

King James Bible
"Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me,
though he were dead, yet shall he live"
, John 11:25

so would not know of the death burial & resurrection of Christ

"the death, burial, and resurrection are not, always all three named together.

...

Am I SURE John 3:16 would "be enough", for the Holy Spirit to USE, to Save a soul?

Dunno.

That is The Holy Spirit's Call.

The Holy Spirit Saved John the Baptist in his mother's womb.

What did He USE?
The Word and the Gospel Spoken, we presume.

and how did He Cause him to Repent and Believe to Be Saved?
by Giving him Repentance and Belief, which is the New Birth, from above, we presume.

We"presume" these, why? Because you must be Born Again.
...

We are 'called' to Preach, "Repentance toward God and Faith in Jesus Christ"
in its simplest form, per the O.P.'s concern, I believe.
If a person is on an Island, and all they find is John 3:16, will believing that save them?

Acts 20:21

“Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks,
repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Mark 1:15
