In the 1950's we were about 7 years old, my friend had a realistic bolt toy rifle with a real wooden stock and cloth shoulder strap.

My neighbor two houses up the street gave me a Christmas gift when I was about 5 years old. That would have been in late 1940's.

It was a cowboy outfit with hat, leather cuffs, chaps, and a holster and cap gun. I walked up and down our street firing that cap pistol until I ran out the roll of caps.

At the time, my imaginary enemies were "Gerries" and "Japs." A couple of years later, the enemies were "commies."

After being "conditioned" to the presence of guns, I used guns for hunting, and of course practiced and qualified with the M-14 in the military.

As an old man, I learned I am left eye dominate. so I am unsure how to fire a rifle, as I am right handed.

Many will say that the Germans instituted gun cont - which in turn made it easier to take the Jews to the concentration camps.
Well, a while back I lost my temper on a laptop of mine that also held PDF copies of some of the German laws I think you are talking about. Funny thing is, around 1939 Hitler actually passed a few laws making it more legal for Jews to own firearms. I remember this well as just discussing it in FaceBook got me a 30 day tempban.

So what would Jewish folks think about toy guns?
I dunno. Have you tried asking them?
