Did they? Or were the gifts meaningful?

The kings or "wise men";that brought three gifts. There could have been 2 or 60, but tradition says 3.
Why does EVERYTHING on here turn into dickering over minor semantics?

Lol.....3 kings vs 3 types of gifts is semantics?

The reason is the thread itself. If we are going to dismantle and evaluate a song that carries the meaning of giving what we have, of giving of even our talents, to Christ against a pure theological standard then the same criteria applies to the three kings.

Me neither. I'm starting to like the little drummer boy, and I like We Three Kings (is that the name of the song?).

Thought so, but wasn't sure. I didn't know if "of Orient are" was part of the title.

Reminds me a story of a little kid in a Christmas play that shows up as one of the wise men dressed as a fireman... Got confused when the teacher said how come you're not dressed like the other wise men?... He smiled and said... I come from a fire (a far)... Always liked that wise man... Brother Glen:Roflmao

And to be clear. They were NOT riding in camels string and tall but war horses which is why everyone was in a panic

Don’t quote me but I think the word for up to 120 so it may have been a fairly large contingent (cohort?)

    Question(s).

Why do you think that everyone was in a panic due to the Magi?

Why do you think the Maji (a religious caste) rode war horses?
