Well, President Biden signed a bill - giving GI parents more time off after having a baby! - Now, first they cant say mom & Dad - rather it is birth parent and non-birth parents. (is it possible that DoD has found a way for males to be a birth parent!) -
I remember the days when when a female GI got PG - she was discharged!
Allowing so much time off for both mom & Dad - is NOT good for completing the mission. Remember - the mission must be accomplished! If a section has 12 personnel and 3 are out on birth leave -(non-chargeable) that means that the remaining 9 people will have to work extra to make up for the missing 3 individuals.

Lets take this a step further - a GI wants to take ordinary leave - but another GI wants to take birth leave - who will get priority?

Or how about this - the unit is preparing for an IG - going to the field or being deployed overseas (which normally - no leaves are approved).

This is from 2007 - but I wonder if the stats are still relevant

    The cost of re-assigning females

by August 2016 the number of PG sailors reached nearly 16 percent, an all-time high. The Navy reported 3,840 of the 24,259 women sailors who were aboard Navy ships were pregnant.

The Navy has been dogged for years by lingering claims that some women get pregnant simply to avoid deployment.

“We all know that happens. Women do it to avoid deployment,” Eden told TheDCNF.

“There do seem to be coincidences,” said Donnelly. “There is a lot of anecdotal evidence.”

Not necessary to find such a way. They can no longer tell a woman from a man and vice versa.

Science means nothing anymore. It had been building, but there was a sharp decline in a relatively short time under Obama.

I have no problem with parental leave in the military. Maybe it will help the divorce rate in the military.

The preservation of the family should be prioritized in the U.S above all other interests, including Capitalism or the military. God-fearing Families form the basis of our culture and our culture is collapsing because family life is collapsing as one-income households become a thing of the past.

Anything that helps to preserve the family including child tax credits, student loan forgiveness at a certain percentage per child, government assistance getting a first home, or large parental leave packages so parents can be with their newborn, and immigration restrictions so American fathers can make more money all gets a green light for me.

I'm even for government regulation of businesses mandating parental leave, mandating First Responder leave for emergency tones and the like. If a company in the U.S wants the privilege of hiring our citizens, then they need to support the employee's family.
