Its mainly talking about the Gospel, those Spiritual things ! The Preaching of the Cross. The things are foolishness, so is the Gospel 1 Cor 1:18
18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

Let us dig a little deeper into this claim that the gospel is permanently hidden from the lost because they are spiritually dead, thus not indwelt with the Holy Spirit.

How were these "lost" blinded? At birth due to being born spiritually dead? No, they in their dead status had to be blinded in order to prevent the light of the gospel from shining on them. Thus the verse is addressing only soil #1 of Matthew 13. And note, folks, they did not start out blinded, so the bogus view that being born spiritually dead causes complete spiritual blindness is bogus too.

Stop changing the subject and address the facts. 1 Corinthians 2:14 is not talking about the milk of the gospel, but about spiritual solid food, remember 1 Corinthians 3:1!

All these posters do is ignore the last rebuttal and post another argument endlessly. Did he acknowledge that something veiled can be revealed? Nope, he ignored the argument. Now he says the things refers to the gospel things, the exact opposite of the biblical message. Paul spoke both to men of flesh and to new Christians using spiritual milk. Thus the things the natural men cannot understand are spiritual solid food! It is a lock.

You are quite correct. The Greek word translated 'hidden' is kekalummenon, the Nominative, singular, neuter, perfect, passive participle. Literally, 'it is in a state of having been hidden [ or 'concealed'] to them that are lost.' Unfortunately there are some Greek 'experts' here who would not know a Perfect Participle if it jumped out at them from behind a bush and bit them on the leg.

I havent changed anything, just clarifying scripture truth. 1 Cor 2:14 says the natural man cannot understand the Gospel.

'Born from above', BEFORE coming to the light, i.e., 'regeneration before faith'.

Ditto. One salvation with two aspects, the temporal and the eternal.

You say salvation has 'aspects'. What are they?

Eternal, Legal, Spiritual, Glorified. I know nothing about a temporal salvation! What does that even mean?

    Very true.

It's the deliverance one obtains through belief and obedience to the gospel, in this TIME REALM.

I see that as the Spiritual aspect and see nothing temporal about it.

    K. Stop being obedient and see what happens to your spiritual life in this temporal realm.

We are totally passive in the eternal aspect of our salvation. We are active and take part in the temporal aspect of our salvation.

Stop being obedient. That sounds ignorant. Spiritual Salvation is when God applies the Salvation Christ accomplished by giving New Birth

You sound ignorant of what scripture plainly teaches about continuing in the faith:

......to present you holy and without blemish and unreproveable before him: if so be that ye continue in the faith, grounded and stedfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel which ye heard, Col 1:22,23

Behold then the goodness and severity of God: toward them that fell, severity; but toward thee, God`s goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. Ro 11:22

Now I make known unto you brethren, the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye received, wherein also ye stand, by which also ye are saved, if ye hold fast the word which I preached unto you, except ye believed in vain. 1 Cor 15:1,2

but Christ as a son, over his house; whose house are we, if we hold fast our boldness and the glorying of our hope firm unto the end...... for we are become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our confidence firm unto the end: Heb 3:6,14

Take heed to thyself, and to thy teaching. Continue in these things; for in doing this thou shalt save both thyself and them that hear thee. 1 Tim 4:16

Take heed unto yourselves, and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit hath made you bishops, to feed the church of the Lord which he purchased with his own blood. Acts 20:18

Gospel (temporal) salvation is not a one time abracadabra event. It's an ongoing affair throughout the life of the believer.

If you condition any part of salvation on what man does or don't do you promote salvation by your works and forsake Grace Salvation

Not true. Like I said, discontinue, stop being obedient to the gospel and see what happens to your 'abundant life' in Christ here on earth.

Kentucky instead of trying to explain temporal Salvation just go to Paul... He explains it better than any of us could... Brother Glen:)

Romans 7: 18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.

20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.

22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:

23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

The trials and tribulation in this life are not to see if we will measure up to go to Heaven, the Lord has already reserved our place 100%... I heard some tell me... Well if I believe the way you do, I would sin up to my eyeballs... I tell them well go ahead and try because God owns you and you are Heaven bound but God can put you through Hell on earth before you get there!
