If The Electric Car Revolution Sputters, Hydrogen Could Still Succeed

Hydrogen is even less safe. It’s a pipe dream anyway.

Diesel is the future. It was the future in the past for good reasons.

Actually, the future of automotive transportation - at least for anyone alive today(January 31, 2023) - includes gasoline, diesel, electric, hydrogen and other fuel sources as well.

Yes. "There are only about 15,000 hydrogen-powered vehicles on U.S. roads right now, and all of them are in California."

Looks like the main disadvantage is fuel supply.

Pumps can supply fuel for about 3 vehicles before having to go offline to pressurize (for about 30 minutes). I'd assume technology may solve this issue if more demand were present.

The cost of the fuel is also significantly higher at this time. I'm not sure why (if it's simply low demand then that'd be solved with more vehicles).

Very interesting topic. :Thumbsup

' The safety authority also investigated any unforeseen aftershocks from the hydrogen system following a range of crash tests.

“Extra attention was also paid to the crash and post-crash safety of the hydrogen-powered Mirai,” said ANCAP, “with assessments revealing this fuel type had no effect on the Mirai’s inherent safety, helping to build consumer confidence.” '

Who is that?

Also, Van says that hydrogen is being pushed by the fossil fuel advocates and you say that it's being pushed by non-fossil advocates. Can you and him get together and figure it out? :Biggrin

You still trust “ authorities “ do you?

When they tell you to report for delousing, you might want to find some skepticism somewhere.

Old Klaus has been very busy for half a century quietly infiltrating governments around the world with his utopian cult followers pushing the Marxist green agenda.
Many leaders, politicians, media, financial figures have undergone Klaus’ indoctrination from a young age.
They want global control, and depopulation, they see world as infested with parasites, us.

I have a idea. If you don't want to buy a hydrogen-powered car, don't buy one.
I can pretty much guarantee I won't buy a hydrogen-powered vehicle.

Not because of safety (they are as safe as gas vehicles....and don't forget napalm is primarily gasoline or diesel) but because the focus is on electric cars and I doubt the infrastructure for hydrogen-powered vehicles will be ready while I'm still driving....or buying new vehicles anyway.

BTW - gas/ diesel napalm (not hydrogen) -

We used to make fougasse in the Army. It was cool. Diesel and soap powder. Vaporize the stuff and ignite it. The air was on fire.

I wonder how often we think about gas and diesel vehicles running on controlled explosions.
