Romans 3:11 makes this statement and some read this as saying "there is none who seeks for God at any time." However the intended contextual message might be "there is none who seeks for God all the time, or when they are going against God by sinning."

Contextually, since Paul is saying "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23) when going against God by sinning is most likely the actual message.

    Consider this verse:
    2 Chronicles 15:4 (NASB)
“But in their distress they turned to the LORD God of Israel, and they sought Him, and He let them find Him.

If no one ever seeks after God, then scripture would not mean what it says! Time to turn from man-centered doctrine and embrace the actual word of God.

How is one chosen if they are the ones causing their own entrance rather than a greater source doing the choosing.

Sliverhair, I am amazed at your blindness to your own contradiction.

"The actual word of God? or a habitual revisionist's additions to the actual scripture, in order to radically alter it's intended, Divine, meaning?,

and call it, "the intended contextual message". Intended by who? or Who?

    Romans 3:4b let God be true, but every man a liar;

    9 "What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;

10 "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

11 "There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

12 "They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

13 "Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:

14 "Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:

15 "Their feet are swift to shed blood:

16 "Destruction and misery are in their ways:

17 "And the way of peace have they not known:

18 "There is no fear of God before their eyes.

19 "Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God."

20 "Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

Then?, for the sake...of honesty(?), we'd need to also haphazardly revise the Old Testament Hebrew of this Prophecy:

Proverbs 14:1; "The fool hath said in his heart,
There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

2 "The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

3 "They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

4 "Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge?"

    While the above passage gave lip service to "the intended contextual message", for the only intended reason apparently of completely changing it's meaning;

    The meaning of it and the rest of the scriptures can, also, be better found by actually reviewing the context, unless it doesn't soot your slight of hand with it;

    The Lord is with His children, as scripture means what it says;

2b "The LORD is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.

3 "Now for a long season Israel hath been without the true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law.

4 "But when they in their trouble did turn unto the LORD God of Israel, and sought him, he was found of them."

Eph 1:13 And in Him, having heard and believed the word of truth—the gospel of your salvation—you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,

Rom 10:10 For with your heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth you confess and are saved.

Rom 10:13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Eph 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God,

Hear the gospel, believe the gospel, call on the Lord, saved by the grace of God.

Man does not cause God to save us, He saves us because we believe in His son.

Non-Germane "to change the subject" post.
How many times have I said God elects for salvation individuals during their lifetime based on crediting their filthy rag faith as righteousness. 10 Times? 100 Times? 1000 Times?

There are none that seek after God is a true statement but there are none that ever seek after God is a false interpretation.

Read Psalms 14:1-6. Who are the ones who seek God as a refuge and make God their refuge? Who are ones in great dread, who are the righteous generation?

This has been your error statement as long as I have read your posts. You state this error ad nauseam. It is a statement that actually denies election by God and replaces it with man as the elector of himself by virtue of his own wilful faith creation.

LOL, I suspect you cannot see your contradiction here, which nullifies your first point.

First, the writers of the Bible are never constrained by the text they are quoting so that the original context is not the determiner of how the writer quotes the old. This is seen clearly in how John points to the Old Testament in Revelation.

    Second, here is Psalm 14:1-6.
The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds, there is none who does good. The Lord looks down from heaven on the children of man, to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God. They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one. Have they no knowledge, all the evildoers who eat up my people as they eat bread and do not call upon the Lord? There they are in great terror, for God is with the generation of the righteous. You would shame the plans of the poor, but the Lord is his refuge.

The answer to your question is... "my people." They are the one's who seek God.
God's elect, chosen people, to whom He has given faith to believe in the Promised One are " His People."
My people is the generation of the righteous.
The ones in dread are those who will not seek God.

Van, your presupposition is wrong, therefore you keep making the same mistake, over and over again. You have been mistaken for as long as I have known you and you are too blind and deaf to understand that you are wrong.

Nevermind that is an irrational absurdity. And of course He did not see any that proclaim "there is no God" seeking God, but He did see those who had made God their refuge, the righteous generation, the believing Jews.

    Psalms 34:4
I sought the LORD and He answered me,
And rescued me from all my fears.

    Acts of the Apostles 13:7
who was with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, a man of intelligence. This man summoned Barnabas and Saul and sought to hear the word of God.

The claim no one ever seeks God is obviously false doctrine.

Based on their filthy rag faith God credits a lost soul with the Perfect Righteousness of Jesus Christ that He Lived out being Perfect under God's Universal Moral Law.

Then, a lost soul's "filthy rag faith" JUST EQUALS the Perfect Righteousness of Jesus Christ that He Lived out being Perfect under God's Universal Moral Law.

    How abominable?

No sin of filthy rags having to be dealt with or convicted by the Word of God and The Holy Spirit, or repented of their sin of filthy rags, by God?

    No Regeneration.

No Work or Plan or Eternal Counsel of Salvation, Accomplished by Jesus' death, burial, and Ressurection from the dead?

    Just something you call, "faith"?

    I have a question.

How many times is that filthy rags 'faith' notion of yours going to be Infinitely wrong?

And to create something else out of it that you HAVE TO DO, for your interpretation, you are not going to tell us what you had to add? and/ or subtract, to change God's Word into a blatant lie?

    Darn.

    Wait.

First, I need to ask, "by interpretation", or "misinterpretation", using ad lib àdditions and deletions, as much and as often as you desire and exclusively 'under your control'?

Ever wonder why posters do not address the specific verses cited in support of biblical doctrine?

Here we have "A Psalm of David," a man after God's Own Heart and one of the most obviously saved souls in the Bible, saying,

"I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

2 "My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.

3 "O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.

4 "I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears."

Saint David was saved soul and "sought the Lord", as a saved soul.

If someone can not decern anything about the difference between a lost soul and a saved soul, does that automatically qualify them as a Bible Expert?

On who seeks God and who doesn't?

    Or on anything else?

Even granting Sergius Paulus, to be either saved or to be lost, the Record has for us that he "sought to hear the word of God".

So, whether he was saved or lost, we still do not (most of us don't) have the Sole Liberty to delete, "to hear the word of God", and simply have, "God", left, as if to say,

whether he was saved or lost, "Sergius Paulus, a man of intelligence. This man summoned Barnabas and Saul and "sought God".

It doesn't matter how many times one adds to and takes away from God's Holy Word, it is still an atrocious sin, isn't it?

It sure is, as far as, it is applied to a saved soul, exclusively, being said to do so and not some other invention of the sin-cursed reasoning using a mind of man.

Well, if you ignore the rest of God's word, reject all passages that present how people came to believe (such as all of Ephesians 1, and Romans 1 through Romans 11) and just pluck a couple verses out of context that you imagine make your point, then...in that fantasy world (in which you seem to live) you might almost have a point.

But, since the whole of God's word, in its entire context, repeatedly shows that your assertion is a farce, I will simply say that you are ignorantly wrong.

I already told you who "My People" are in my previous post. Your redundancy is old.

God chose who would believe in the Promised One from before the foundation of the world. God's word is for us whom God chose to redeem. Everyone else will either find it foolish or they will massively misunderstand what God is saying and will create a salvation of works from its text.

God chooses. God laughs at the wicked. (Psalm 2)

Your assertion is only correct if you read it through your Calvinist philosophy. This has been shown to you numerous times but you continue to ignore scripture so to quote you "I will simply say that you are ignorantly wrong"

I FORGOT! This often repeated Manifesto of Another Gospel RESULTS IN A LOST SOUL ELECTING THEMSELVES, OR HAVING GOD WAITING TO ELECT THEM UNTIL AFTER THEY'VE DONE THESE MIGHTY WORKS!

    Good catch, AustinC!

    I repeat(!)

Based on their filthy rag faith God credits a lost soul with the Perfect Righteousness of Jesus Christ

...the Righteousness that He Lived out by being Perfect under God's Universal Moral Law(?)

Then, a lost soul's "filthy rag faith" JUST MIRACULOUSLY IS CREDITED BY GOD AS EQUAL TO the Perfect Righteousness of Jesus Christ that He Lived out when He lived Perfectly under God's Universal Moral Law(?)

And then, that is when God Elects them, based on their works?

If you think about it, Why in the world would God need to Elect them, then?

Seems like that would serve no purpose, whatsoever(?)

    Alas. Vanology.

And so, in effect Man Elects themselves?

    How abominable?

There would be No sin of filthy rags having to be dealt with, or convicted by the Word of God and The Holy Spirit, or Repentance of their sin Granted regarding their filthy rags, by God?

There is No Regeneration in this scheme of 'salvation'?

Then, how, again, is it 'salvation', without Regeneration?

    It just is?

Like signing a Decision or Commitment card?

There would be No Work or Plan or Eternal Counsel of Salvation, Accomplished by Jesus' death, burial, and Resurrection from the dead needed?

Just some off the cuff "filthy rags faith"?

I really dunno about all this.

This is your crutch. Not once do I ever invoke John Calvin. I provide passages of scripture and you disdain all of God's word in favor of taking sentences out of context as your method of supporting your pretext. This has been shown over and over regarding your dishonest use of God's word. Since I have known you, you have lifted up man while rejecting God's sovereignty. This is simple fact.

You do not have to invoke Calvins name to hold to his errant ideas which you do. I have shown you your errors but you ignore the biblical text. You have posted enough on this board so that people can see that you read your special meaning into words and verses so that they fit your errant theology.

I will continue to refute your errant theology and pray that God will see fit to open your eyes to the truth of His word.

(snip)... you push all Scripture, which destroys (snip), into your Calvin box. Your dishonesty is becoming legendary here at the BB. You simply will not accept that God rules over you.
