NO - for some reason new people are not being approved - I have tried to contact owners - but to no avail. Dr Bob and other admins have been locked out.....

Our newest member is from last Fall

This happens to most boards - Christian or otherwise. None stay forever.

The other board that I was on recently and was a moderator/counselor went defunct because the owners would NOT respond to the staff. And there were problems that only the owners could fix.

But, yes, the level of bickering, tattle-telling, snarkiness, and discussing the same topics ad nausem is disheartening.

The owners are (somewhat) active - as one will post certain threads as "Featured Threads"
Why he will not respond is beyond me.

Nobody can currently join the BB. I've had one person contact me a few times. The system is not sending the confirmation email. So it is impossible for us to get new members.

I believe the featured thread is automated based on responses.

I just posted a new question on the Admin page - lets see if any of the owners will respond.

Break my heart, demise of the BB, end of an era (for me)...

...sounds exactly what's happening here.

I have a site that’s been around for years. Facebook and people dying off, whatever, dried it up.

If it becomes necessary, everyone can move over there, same freedom to post that you have here. We can change the name to New Baptist Board, if you want to, or whatever suits the group. Same moderators as here.

Or just start over.

Perhaps it was inevitable that one day matters might converge in a topic here to conjure up that infamous scene juxtaposing tearful desperation with that terrible cliché of frank nonchalance, such that I should feel empathy, or worse. But it now intrudes, foreboding like an unwelcome vision. “Where shall I go? What shall I do?” . . .

Doom!!! Doom, I say!!

So if there is any content you've written here that you like, best save it in MS Word or something. :)

I’ve been here for more than 20 years…
…and I can’t think of anything I need to save.

Should we begin to migrate to another site?
I’m not on any other posting boards.
Any ideas where?

I've been on a couple of boards in the past, but have always enjoyed the BB the most. Except that in the last year or so, pugnacious posters have proliferated and proffered pitiful positions for preservation in posterity. So I have no recommendations.

Wow. 20 years. That's an investment. I've probably been here 15 or so.
