Excellent! Hope the ones in my community do the same

 

Many ELCA churches have done the same. I thought the majority of them would join the LCMS, however, the ban on women's ordination in that denomination prevents the majority of the ELCA affiliated churches from joining. Most are affiliating with the new North American Lutheran Church which allows WO's ordination but remains bible believing on the LGBTXYZ issue.

 

Here's a sample for you, Salty. Notice somethin'? Somethin' else that y'all in the Convention were up in arms about just a few weeks ago?!

Local SC Churches separate for good from United Methodist denomination

Erie, Crawford Methodist congregations welcome members of disaffiliated churches

"At least two churches in Erie County are looking to disaffiliate. West Springfield and Cranesville United Methodist Churches have taken the necessary votes and are just waiting for the Conference to transfer the deeds, said their pastor, Theresa Campbell...Campbell said members of her two churches discerned where their hearts were and what they thought about following God's word....'We're just very traditional in our theology'."

43 Wisconsin churches ask to disaffiliate from United Methodist Church

"...said the Rev. Mao Her, the pastor of Christ United Methodist Church in Greenfield. She is also the president of the Wisconsin chapter of the Wesleyan Covenant Association, the advocacy organization that helped launched the new traditionalist Global Methodist Church, which disaffiliated churches are joining....'We want to have integrity in the scripture'. Her's Greenfield church is among the 43 in Wisconsin who voted to disaffiliate."

 

Nah, the Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ has twice as many congregations as the NALC:

Thanks for the information. Many of the ELCA congregations in the Central Valley in California were affiliating with NALC. I was not aware of the Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ. They don't seem to have much of a presence in the area I was living.

 

There are countless others who left the UM's with or without their church.
