For certain people have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into indecent behavior and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
Titus 1:10-11

1 Thessalonians 4:7-8
For God has not called us on the basis of moral corruption, but in sanctification.
Therefore, the one who rejects this basis is not rejecting man, but the God who gives His Holy Spirit to you.

For such people are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting.

For false christs and false prophets will arise and will provide great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the ones chosen for salvation.

Woe to you when all the people speak well of you; for their fathers used to treat the false prophets the same way.

Yet it was a concern because of the false brothers secretly brought in, who had sneaked in to spy on our freedom which we have in Christ Jesus, in order to enslave us.

But false prophets also appeared among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves.
2 Peter 2:3
and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.
What motivates those that sneak in? They seek to profit in some way by using deceit. Thus false teachers and false prophets are seeking false profits.
