False "Profits"?

Acts 20:29-30
“I know that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; and from among your own selves men will arise, speaking perverse things to draw away the disciples after them.

Jude 1:4
For certain people have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into indecent behavior and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

Titus 1:10-11
For there are many rebellious people, empty talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision, who must be silenced because they are upsetting whole families, teaching things they should not teach for the sake of dishonest gain.

Revelations 2:2 ‘I know your deeds and your labor and perseverance, and that you cannot tolerate evil people, and you have put those who call themselves apostles to the test, and they are not, and you found them to be false;

1 Thessalonians 4:7-8
For God has not called us on the basis of moral corruption, but in sanctification.
Therefore, the one who rejects this basis is not rejecting man, but the God who gives His Holy Spirit to you.

Rom 16:17-18
Now I urge you, brothers and sisters, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and stumblings, contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them. For such people are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting.

Matthew 7:15
“Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.

Matthew 24:24
For false christs and false prophets will arise and will provide great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the ones chosen for salvation.

Luke 6:26
Woe to you when all the people speak well of you; for their fathers used to treat the false prophets the same way.

Galatians 2:4
Yet it was a concern because of the false brothers secretly brought in, who had sneaked in to spy on our freedom which we have in Christ Jesus, in order to enslave us.

2 Peter 2:1
But false prophets also appeared among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves.

2 Peter 2:3
and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.

What motivates those that sneak in? They seek to profit in some way by using deceit. Thus false teachers and false prophets are seeking false profits.

What were you questioning, I used false profits rather than false prophets as an eye catcher. See last line of post for disclosure.
Just making sure. It caught my eye as I was taking a break from reviewing my portfolio.

So good job. The title worked! :Thumbsup

When people speak in generalities, or use vague and undefined terms, they are not following Christ's instruction to speak plainly, clearly and boldly. If people say this or that is wrong, but neglect to say what is right, beware. Daylight is a great antiseptic, but corruption is a contagion of darkness.

Peddling an attack on the "Prosperity Gospel" brings to mind the line, a rose by any other name would smell as sweet..."

Paul preached what was true, rather than then simply saying what is not true. He strived to speak plainly, clearly and boldly
